Thorong La or Thorung La is a mountain pass with an elevation of 5,416 meters (17,769 ft) above sea level in the Damodar Himal, north of the Annapurna Himal, Nepal. Thorong Ri on the slope of Khatung Kang and Yakawa Kang are the mountains forming Thorong La.

The pass is located on a trail that connects the village of Manang in the Manang District to the east, with the temple of Muktinath and the nearby village of Ranipauwa, in the Mustang District to the west. Thorong La is the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit, a 300 km (190 mi) route around the Annapurna mountain range.

Mount. Thamsherku (6,608 m)

Microplastics were found in all the snow samples collected from 11 locations on Everest, ranging from 5,300 metres to 8,440 metres high. The highest concentrations of microplastics were found around Base Camp, where climbers and trekkers spend the most time.

Few tips on Eco-Friendly Travel.

1. Pack lightly
Every kilo counts when flying. The more a plane weighs, the more carbon emissions it produces. Pack only what you need - the environment will thank you.

2. Share the load
Taking public transport is one of the best things you can do for the environment when traveling. It means you're not creating any additional carbon emissions from private transport. It will also add to your travel experience, providing you with opportunities to interact with locals.

3. Be at home in a hotel
A great tip is to remember to act in a hotel like you would at home – avoid getting clean towels when not necessary, don't have long showers and remember to turn off TV, lights and aircon when you leave the room.

4. Avoid bottled water
Plastic bottles account for a lot of waste, carry your own reusable water bottle and re-fill it anytime.

5. Stick to the path
When hiking, always stay on marked trails and maintain a safe distance from any animals you encounter. Going off the beaten path could mean you trample on protected or endangered plants.

Manang Wildfire has destroyed large forest area as the fire is still not under control even after one and a half month. The wildfire has affected parts from Chame Gaupalika to Naso Gaupalika. There are estimates of wildlife loss as well as medicinal herbs because the region falls under environmentally important Annapurna Conservation Area. The local authorities along with Army & Locals are trying to control the fire.
