Nepal is once more open for the tourist. Share this message and trekking experience with others too.

Annelie & I just finished our 14 day trek through the Manaslu region of the Himalayas & it was every bit as majestic as we hoped.

Our trek started with jungles & monkeys & waterfalls & garden-fresh meals. Then through the beginnings of forest & cold nights & glacial blue rivers that felt so much like the PNW.
We spent our days learning about the land and culture (& a bit of Nepali) from our guide Sudip & cheering on our porter Hom for his super-human strength & communicating with him through yelps and smiles and high-fives.
As we moved up to the snowy Himalayas we would praise Surya (sun) for her warmth as She rose above the massive peaks every morning. And our hearts & lungs for carrying us up to 17,000 feet. And for steaming tea every afternoon.
Emergency evening sprints to the outdoor “squatty potty” in absolutely frigid temperatures were nearly made worth it for the reward of the starriest, quietest sky I’ve ever laid eyes & ears upon.
Thank you Nepal & your beauty for the weeks of reflection & beauty & perspective.
