In just one year, I witnessed a significant change in the Everest Base Camp (EBC) region, where the ice is melting rapidly due to global warming. This ecological imbalance is evident in the highland eco-trek to the EBC, where the once-massive glaciers are now visibly receding. The impact is particularly stark at the big glacial lake near EBC, which has noticeably shrunk. This alarming transformation underscores the urgent need for sustainable environmental practices to mitigate the effects of climate change. Preserving these fragile ecosystems is crucial, not just for the local biodiversity, but for the global climate as well.
