Happy New year, Nepali time 11.11 AM Photo from Mount Machapuchare, Its name, which means "fish's tail" in Nepalese, comes from its twin summit, which resembles the tail of a fish. Another moniker for it is the "Matterhorn of Nepal." For the Gurungs and the Chomrong tribes, it is a sacred summit. Since the god Shiva resides atop the mountain, it is believed to be sacred.
