A new trekking route from Myagdi to Rukum follows trails used by the Maoists during the war.
Now, trekkers can retrace the footsteps of the guerillas and imagine what it must have been like to hike and fight in this kind of terrain. The trail starts in Beni, skirts Baglung, passes the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve and goes on to Rukum and Rolpa, takes 11 to 16 days. All along, there are spectacular views of the Dhaulagiri range from high ridges and large meadows fringed by pine forests. The trail has a historic attraction, but there are also challenges of infrastructure and making locals aware of how they can benefit from tourism.

The Langtang valley is situated closer to Kathmandu than other trekking regions, and is lesser used by both trekkers and local. Here mountains rise soaring toward the sky and it is aptly called the valley of glaciers .it offers pine forest swift mountain stream, rugged rocks and snow capped peaks, grassy down and meadows strewn with daises and wild animals. There are snow ridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in must tiny lake of crystalline brightness and glaciated mountains giants in the upper parts of the valley once you enter the Langtang valley you see fluttering buddies prayer flags ,boringly painted .

The trek ,closer to Kathmandu than other trekking region gives superb views of the great peak of Langtang Lirung(97246m) Which dominates the upper valley and straddles the Tibetan border, just after the monsoon .It is an ideal place to spot birds .and flowers of Nepal in the spring according to a legend ,a lama following a runaway yak discovered the valley ,hence the name –Lang ( Tibetan name for yak ), Tang (more currently ‘Dhang’ means to follow). Good opportunities for moderate climbing excursions are here ,so you should allow some extra days for exploration of the extensive glacier system .our return rute takes us past the holy lakes of Gosainkunda, an important place of pilgrimage ,and over a high pass that brings us almost to edge of Kathmandu itself.

Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. It is the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama (Gautam Buddha).Siddhartha Gautama lived roughly between 623 and 543 BCE and he founded Buddhism as Gautama Buddha. Lumbini is one of four magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha, the others being at Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya and Sarnath.

Lumbini, where the Buddha lived until the age of 29, has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple, and others under construction. Also located there is the Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath, as well as the remains of Kapilavastu palace. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, achieved ultimate awakening and finally relinquished earthly form.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

"A primeir location in Nepal for bird watching.The Kosi Tapu and the Kosi Barrage in east Nepal provide one of the best places in Nepal to view migratory water fowl, waders and shore birds during the winter months. Many species not recorded elsewhere in the region have been seen here. Thousands of birds congregate here in January and February before they migrate north when the warm weather begins. Kosi Tapu Tented Camp situated on the fringe of the reserve provides the only accommodation to date. Well qualified nature guides take the guests out on walks, jeep drives and boat rides to look for birds and the wild buffalo found only here in Nepal.
