Shey-Festival 2024 or Shelri Drugda (Crystal Mountain) Festival

Every 12 years, Shey-Festival is officially announced to be celebrated from September 1st, 2024, 2024 to September 2024.

Things to do in Dolpo during the visit to Shey-Festival 2024.
1- You will walk on journey by the bank of Phoksundo rivers where you will enjoy the villages and lives.
2-One and foremost Bon High School-Tapriza Secondary School in Saijal is exactly on the way. One can visit the school and understand the languages, cultures, scripts and their daily activtiies. This will let you understand the outline of Dolpo before entering into the Upper Dolpo.
2- Just waking further 10 minutes, you will enter into the Gangchen Menkhang- a local and modernised clinic where one will enjoy both the treatment i.e. Amchi treatment( Tibetan Science of Healing process) and a clinic. Have a check up your health before embarking into the high mountains.
3- May be an hour later, you may feel little tough ascending up but soon all will just go away within the long breath- the beautiful Phoksundo Water fall will just welcome you there and it just relief your entire exhaustion.
4- 1.5 hrs later, the ancient Bon village, believed as the neighbour of Phoksundo lake - Rigmo and their hospitality will welcome you and your teams there. Enjoy the Hotel, Home Stays, Campsite and Tent Hotels.
5- Next day- Off course you won’t miss the early view of Calm and Relaxed Lake. Sit on the back and just keep calm to know the essence of peace.
6- After the breakfast, the protector of Lake and Rigmo, The Holy and Scared Thasung Choeling is the next great place to visit.
7- You will keep on walking after leaving the Rigmo village and start ahead to Upper Dolpo. You will enjoy the whole body of the lake and start experiencing blow of wind .
8- The valley of Kangla base camp, Sallha Gari camp and Huge Mantra Scrubbed Stone will be the points and sights you will see.
9- Now, the huge and high Kangla Pass-5250M is the kind of challenging but you will make it because it’s been generational pass Dolpopas have crossed up to now. Kangla Pass will glancingly show you the mountain ranges, the pasture of Yartsa Gumbu- the valuable fungus cater pillar in herbal form.
10- Finally the Shey Gompa- Monastery is the exact venue where 67th 12 Years Shey-Festival will conduct.
11- The sacred cliff leaned Tsakhang Gompa is the another means of joy and religious hermitage. It takes atleast an hour from Shey Gompa.It’s an ancient monastery and seat of Great Shelri Choktul lineages.Here the monastery have Kagyu Sect Buddhist Practices but for Dolpo people sectoral differentiation is not much valued rather respecting all Gurus, Monasteries and Sect is important.
12- Right at the behind in an adjacent side,the oldest and historically important Monastery is there. Its name is Gomoche Monastery. The great Drikung Kagyu Saint established Gomoche Monastery in an around 11th Century. Drupthop Singe Yishe was the founder of it.

Day 00: Rest day in Kathmandu after Jet lag & Trekking preparation and permit paperwork day.
Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Machhakhola (930m) via Gorkha and Arughat Bazaar (535m) -9 to 10 Hours
Day 02: Trek Machha Khola to Jagat (1,340 m) -5 to 6 Hours
Day 03: Trek Jagat to Nayak Phedi (2,340m) - 4 to 5 Hours
Day 04: Trek Nayak to Bihi Phedi (1,990m) - 3 to 4 Hours
Day 05: Trek Bihi Phedi to Holy site Serang Gumba (3050m) -5 to 6 hours
Day 06: Enjoying a day in Serang Gumba (3050m), playing with wild Goat (Jharal), birds, Pica,
Day 07: Trek Sereng to Prok -7 to 8 hours via Kwak, Ghap (2165m)
Day 08: Explore the day in Prok Village and visit Kal Tal /Kalchhuman Lake (3574m) from Prok – 5 to 6 hours, back to Prok
Day 09: Trek Prok to Lihi (2920m) – 4 to 5 Hours
Day 10: A day side trip at Hinang Gompa (3,100m) from Lihi – 1 hours easy walk & Hinang Gompa to Himalchuli Base Camp (4220m)- 4 to 5 hours one way
Day 11: Trek Lihi to Shyala (3500m) – 4 to 5 Hours
Day 12: Trek Shyala to Sama Gaon (Ro) (3525m) via Pung Gyen Gumba (3870m) – 5 to 6 Hours
Day 13: Explore the day in Sama Gaon for acclimatization, may visit Manaslu Base Camp (4,400m) & Manaslu Advance Base Camp (4,800m), Birendra Lake,
Day 14: Trek Sama Gaun to Samdo (3850m) - 4 to 5 Hours, visit the Samdo Ri – 1 hour
Day 15: A day side trip to Tibet Border at Ruila Pass (4,998m) - 3 to 4 Hours -a single way
Day 16: Trek Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi) (4460m) - 4 to 5 Hours
Day 17: Trek Dharmashala to Bimtang (3590m) via Larkya La (5160m) - 7 to 8 Hours, stay overnight at Teahouse.
Day 18: Trek Bhimtang to Dharapani (2,130m) via Tilje (2,300m) - 7 to 8 Hours
Day 19: Drive Dharapani to Beshisahar for 3 to 4 hours. Again drive back to Kathmandu (1,350m) -5 to 6 hours
Day 00: Rest Day in Kathmandu as your own destination. Or shopping and other.
