Mountian Flights to View Mt. Kailash

A mountain flight has begun from Nepalgunj to Kailash Mansarovar at the initiative of tourism entrepreneurs’ associations. Although the flight was scheduled to begin last Saturday, thick fog weakened visibility, resulting in a day’s delay. Tourism entrepreneur Keshav Neupane said the mountain flight would help recover declining business and help identify tourism destinations for Indian tourists.

Himalayan Airlines has been awarded the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate, making it the first Nepali airline to achieve certification under the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The certificate, granted in December 2023, will remain valid until March 3, 2025, according to Himalayan Airlines .This recognition signifies the airline’s commitment to enhancing safety standards in the aviation sector, aligning its safety protocols with international standards.
The achievement brings the airline’s safety standards on par with those of global counterparts.

The Geminid meteor shower will be visible from Wednesday till Thursday, December 14, 2023 from Nepal.

The meteor shower emerges from the constellation Gemini which will rise in the east and set in the west in the morning.

If there's minimum light pollution and the sky is dark enough, then anyone can observe the shower tonight and more clearly after midnight through naked eyes.

Kukur Tihar is a part of the Tihar festival, a Hindu festival celebrated in Nepal.
