The Ghorepani P**n Hill Trek sounds like an excellent option for those who are short on time but still want to experience the natural beauty and culture of the Annapurna region in Nepal. HIKING TO SARANGKOT (1,610 m)
The hike to Sarangkot is a popular tourist activity for those visiting Pokhara. However, it is important to be aware that the hike involves a considerable gain in altitude and can be physically demanding for some individuals. The most direct route to the viewpoint begins from Panchase Marg, which is approximately 1.5 kilometers away from Lakeside. While some visitors opt to take a bus to Sedi Bagar, the neighborhood where the hike begins, newly constructed Annapurna Cable Car is also an option. Once you start the hike from Sedi Bagar, after a few minutes of walk from the cable car gate, you will enter the jungle uphill, where you can hear and observe a variety of birds chirping and fluttering around. It is important to note that the hike lacks clear indicators to guide hikers along the way. Faded arrows painted on stones are the primary markers, which can be easily overlooked if not paying close attention. Thus, it is recommended that visitors take a guide to avoid getting lost along the way. The hike from Sedi Bagar to Sarangkot typically takes around three hours, depending on your physical fitness level and pace. The trail can be steep in some sections, which may pose a challenge for those not accustomed to hiking at higher altitudes. However, the breathtaking views of the Annapurna Mountains from the Sarangkot Viewpoint make the effort well worth it. Moreover, the area has many cafes and hotels where hikers can stop for lunch while enjoying spectacular views of the mountains. One recommended spot is the Bhanjyan village restaurant, where you can also spend the night for the next morning's sunrise view.
