Rara Lake falling in Mugu district, Karnali Zone close to Gam Ghadi, Rara lake trek is the most popular for nature trekking in Nepal. Lake Rara is a well-known serene holy spot for Nepalese. It is Nepal Largest lake. This eye-catching high elevated lake is surrounded by forests of pine, spruce, juniper, as well as alpine meadows. The Rara Lake trek doesn't just put on hypnotic effect, but, you can view wonderful view of snow-topped Himalayas. Rara Lake Trek takes you all the way through the off the beaten paths of the trek in the far-western wilds of Nepal bestows incredible experience. Rara Lake trek passes will take you to Rara Lake, which is counted as Nepal’s Largest Lake, located at an elevation of 3062 meters.The Rara Lake Trek is fully organised by off road tour & camping trekking.
We will begin the Rara Lake Trek from the airstrip of Jumla as we fly there from Kathmandu via Nepalgunj. The track passes all the way through the green landscape. From Jumla, we begin walking to Padmara. We will transverse northeast side along the Chaudbise Khola all the way through pine forests. Walking two hours further, we will reach Urthu (2520m) at the union point of Chaudbise river and Ghurseni River. Also, the track further than Padmara rises along the northern side of Ghurseni River. We will move to 3048 meters and go up to the pass -Khali Langa (3545m). And before reaching Ghurchi Lagna (3457m) we ascend up the slender channel on the northeast hill and go around north side to reach Pine (2430m). Rara Lake is only 8 km. west side of Pine. It is an enjoyable trekking day with excellent vistas to the north.
Rara Lake Trek provides extraordinary glimpses of traditions and panorama quite unusual ones and ultimately finishes to the Rara Lake situated in the Rara National Park. More than 20 different types of mammals and 214 kinds of birds and more than a few other species of floras can be found in the park. Also, the park holds animal like- leopards, Ghorals, musk deer, Himalayan black bear etc. Rara National park is a famous as a joy for bird watchers, mostly when a lot of varieties of birds travel there during November and April. Also, you will get to see the mixture of varied ethnic inhabitants like-Gurung as well as Magar.
The whole way passes through off the beaten trail which also entails the crossing of Ghurchi Lagna pass lying at 3450m en-route to Rara Lake which is the maximum point you will reach during Rara Lake trek. Any bodily fit traveller can go for this fair trek any time of the year, especially between March and May and October to early December. Rara lake trek requires camping trekking.
