has been a long time in the making.
6 Years ago a 1969 Oxford Widebody 11 foot nothing caravan was purchased with two adventures in mind:
1) An epic honeymoon circumnavigating the South Island
and
2) Starting up a coffee caravan
The circumnavigation of the South Island was a great success... for the most part. Many an adventure was had from Motueka to Bluff, through the Catlins, up the East Coas
t and through to the Center of the South. Somewhere between Twizel and Tekapo, on a scorching hot, mid January day the axle snapped. Little Widebody Oxford was left stranded for some months with the friendly crew at Tekapo Auto Services. Some few thousand dollars later, a couple of structural makeovers and a number of blowouts on the sides of various, isolated roads in Aotearoa, Little Widebody Oxford came to rest as an extra storage shed on the driveway...
The second intention for this caravan was lost in the rush of life and lay hidden under a pile of dreams barely simmering on the back burner. Until now...
An intentional de-cluttering of life and downsizing to (almost) tiny house living has brought about the time, energy and inspiration to fulfill the second adventure...
