Everytime I drink different vintages of Chardonnay I enjoy the subtle changes the wine presents through the seasons and the winemakers influence that year. Tipping Point Hawkes Bay 2023. That summer or lack of was was a challenge for many vineyards in the mid to upper North Island. But this wine still presents with ripe stonefront, particularly nectarine, and some dried apricot and vanilla pod. It's quite luscious with rounded toastiness and the buttery bakery nuances that come with barrel maturation and battanage. Lovely texture and nice length, it's very easy drinking all at a fair price. One of many Constellation brands taking New Zealand wine to the world.

Clone 121 Chardonnay already harvested to make their stunning cremant NV
Kumeu River Wines produce fabulous Methode Tradionelle from grapes, only hand harvested from their local Kumeu Estates. There are 3 to choose from including a Chardonnay/Pinot Noir Rose', but the Blanc de Blanc is clearly the one to buy, with a very fine consistent bead, elegant citrus and white peach, nuanced with brioche from yeast autolysis and bottle maturation before disgorgement. Simply superb.
Made in very small amounts, it would impress any major Champagne House & grace the head table of any wedding or high-end celebration.

It's one thing to want to taste wine, but being able to mix that up with a spectacular nature walk through a beautiful rainforest full of different ferns, native palms, flaxes and ancient trees for many visiting tourists is ideal.

Her memories and reminiscences of such a long and happy life, starting a business with her husband Mate' and their four children inspire me to keep doing what I love - Promoting New Zealand wine to clients from all over the world.

If you go on some of our tours you might be lucky enough to meet this truely iconic and amazing lady. At 87 she still often comes out to say hello to my guests and everyone says what a wonderful person she is, and what an incredible family story she has to tell.

Arriving into Picton in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds on the Kaiarahi to pickup my new coach, put her immediately back on the ship for Wellington then head to Taupo for the night to break up the trip.
