I just love this native to NZ spring flower, such an extraordinary colour combination the New Zealand fuchsia tree or Kotukutuku, the berries are called konini and are edible. unfortunately these trees are favoured by the introduced Australian possum (who eat them to the point they die) and now not so prevalent. This one in the 💓 of Wellington in the little bush walk.

I made this salad with foraged flowers, pink & yellow oxalis or wood sorrel and wild onion w**d or three cornered leek, both are appearing every where in Auckland during spring. I say yes w**ds but don’t kill them eat them they are yummy 😋 and totally disappear during the dry months..
