👩‍🏫 I'm a bit of a nerd so I LOVE learning. Last year my CPD covered topics such as business management, financial management, parent category updates, digital marketing, Immigration Protection and Tribunal decisions, IACDT decisions and our adviser licencing regime. All good things that help me, my business and most importantly my clients!

💡I've seen plenty of reference letters in my career and they have ranged from hand-written letters by the applicant (not the employer!) to highly professional documents.

💡What INZ want to see is how credible this letter is - make sure the details in the letter are correct and verifiable. INZ have been known to call employers and verify the details before so make sure you are not misleading INZ.

🏖INZ are closed over the statutory holidays (25-26/12 and 01-02/01) here in NZ and generally operates on what seems to be skeleton/minimal staff from 24/12 - 06/01.

⏰If your work visa is expiring soon and you are still waiting for your employer's accreditation or job check application to be processed, then you will need to apply for a Visitors Visa to remain in the country lawfully.

🔔INZ have also extended the response timeframe over the holiday period.
Between 09/12 - 06/01 applicants will have at least 20 working days to respond to any concerns or requests for information from INZ.

As part of the planned staged changes announced by Immigration New Zealand on 17 December, a key one for employers and workers alike is the extended interim work rights for AEWV applicants who are going from a work/student visa --> work visa, allowing them to stay in work and to not sit at home waiting for months on end.

Once the instructions have been updated, I'm sure the devil will be in the detail so watch this space...

How do you prove to someone that you are in a genuine and stable relationship?

There are a myriad of documents and evidence you can include in your Partnership application to prove that you are in a genuine and stable relationship such as photos, chronological list of events attended and moments shared, marriage and birth certificates of children etc.

💣Work Visa Reforms Announced💣
Great news for non-citizen workers and employers!

📌Here are the highlights -

From 27 Jan 2025:
✅ Accredited employers will no longer need to complete Employment New Zealand’s online modules or offer migrants paid time to do these. This also applies to Recognised Seasonal Employers.

✅The percentage of New Zealanders that certain construction sector businesses must employ will reduce from 35 per cent to 15 per cent.
