We recognise the huge importance of collaboration with regards to sustainability, especially as we are just one part in the supply chain. It’s important to us to connect with communities, our New Zealand partners and offshore clients and all associations around us, NZ based and globally. Travelife talks about how tourism is driven by information and knowledge and that social cooperation with associations, societies, working groups, and all other entities are essential.
We feel honoured that Travelife has recognised ID New Zealand in their latest ‘Best Practice’ nomination this week for our proactive contributions to ‘Social Cooperation: Responsible Tourism Contribution’. (Read more in their post below).
The tourism industry is a highly competitive one, driven by information and knowledge. Social cooperation is essential in ensuring that companies are well-informed about the latest happenings and regulations within the industry. Associations, societies, working groups, and other similar entities are all great platforms for tourism businesses to share best practices!
For tour operators, joining and contributing to a network of like-minded companies is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge about sustainability practices. Knowledge sharing not only reduces the cost of generating new information but also drives innovation to improve the employee and customer experience.
This week's best practice comes from ID New Zealand who has made proactive contributions to responsible tourism in New Zealand and beyond! The company is highly active in various forums and associations like TWLGO (The World's Leading Ground Operators) and NZ Tourism Associations Network COVID-19 response, where senior leaders discuss and respond to strategic and system-level issues related to tourism.
The company also supports economic, environmental, host community, and visitor sustainability through its involvement in the NZ Tourism Sustainability Commitment with TIA (Tourism Industry Aotearoa). Moreover, ID New Zealand Ltd signed the 'Tiaki Promise' put forward by the New Zealand Government which aims to care for people and places. By signing the Promise, the company pledges a commitment to care for New Zealand, for now, and for future generations.
