The girls were on this weekend with a couple monster packhorse crayfish caught in the same spot. The weather gave us a few good days and we made the most of it with some good vis and plenty of fish seen. Yeah the girls 🤘🏽

Between the weather and catching the spicy cough we have not been able to get much water time lately . To everyone waiting to get in the water with us you’re going to have to wait a little longer as we will be away for the next 6 weeks catching up on some diving in Africa . Good news is by the time we are operating again it will be spring and the weather should have sorted itself out and we can expect to have more scenes like the one above !

The humble Kahawai, peoples marlin, silver marlin or whatever you refer to it as - caught post bust up on the surface . Picking a fish out of these shoals can be easier said than done. The best way being to pick a fish to aim at and not just shoot wildly into the shoal 🐟

Harvesting our annual packhorse crayfish . This one fed 7 people as popcorn crayfish and there is still another meal in the legs and shell.

The fact that the legal limit is 6 per day is atrocious for a species that get this size. It should be 1 per day in our opinion and this is our self imposed boat limit for Packy’s when out on charter .

It’s not just about the fish. It’s about sharing the journey with your friends, respecting the ocean and what it decides to offer and appreciating every step of the process. This was such a wholesome weekend. Epic conditions, epic friends, epic fish, epic banter, and to top it off epic COBB Grill NZ kaimoana chows 👌🏼 This is living 🐟🤘

Back when the sea was flat like it should be. When this relentless onslaught of beastly easterlies is done we will be making up for all this time stuck on land . It has been a good opportunity to empty the freezer in anticipation of the best months of diving that are still to come .

We have had a cracking start to the year with the weather playing ball and letting us get out for some epic day trips nearly every day so far.
The water is surprisingly warm already with temps up to 22 degrees and an abundance of fish making for some epic encounters . We even had a manta come right in last week.
This cyclone is giving us a breather for a while and we will be back at it from next week.
Hope everyone’s year is off to a good start and looking forward to seeing you out there !

2021 - What a year 💥 We started operating this little charter back in February and man we’ve had such a good time ! Thanks heaps for all the support throughout the ups and downs of this year ( lockdown 😭 ) . Clients turned into friends , insane ocean conditions , epic fish landed and most importantly a bloody good time was had ! Can’t wait to see what 2022 has to offer 🤘🤘 Love you long time ocean !!!!
