You might notice abit of a difference when you come into kura this afternoon, we have had some amazing volunteers from Matua Wines in this morning to give the front of our school a wee spruce up! Matua Wines have offered to send volunteers in on a regular basis to assist with any odd jobs we may need a hand with. Many people are also commenting on our beautifully kept grounds/field of late, we can not thank our new caretaker Wayne enough for all of the hard work he is putting into our kura.

The Heart of a Father

Written by Nastassia Wolfgramm | Directed by Vita Vaka

In 1976, a Tongan father and his family fled Auckland’s brutal Dawn Raids to end up in the southernmost city they could travel to in Aotearoa; Invercargill.

However, 14 years later the trauma still lingers, along with imminent challenges in their hometown. 'The Heart of a Father' is a beautifully unique story inspired by true events that explores the impact of the Dawn Raids through the relationship between father and son – restoring lost identity and breaking the power of shame and fear over a family’s future.

When: Wednesday 23 & Thursday 24 October, 6:30pm

Where: Anderson Theatre | ASB Theatre Marlborough – 2 Hutcheson Street, Blenheim

We are so excited to provide this opportunity to our Blenheim School whānau. Our tamariki have loved seeing our māra kai area being developed over the past two months, and we cannot wait to complete this. There is never a shortage of little helpers, and we have already got lots of seedlings ready to leave our māra to yours! Please R.S.V.P by Monday October 21.

Good morning, just a reminder we have Diane from New Zealand Family Portraits here again on Sunday October 20. This wee fundraiser was a huge success for us last year, with whanau delighted with their photo's. $30 for the sitting fee, and receive a large family print. There is also an option to then view and purchase individual photo's or packs. We still need a few more bookings to be able to go ahead with this, so please share this post with your family and friends. Bookings can be made by emailing Jo: [email protected]
Thank you!

The crew absolutely smashed it today at the Marlborough Pasifika Festival, representing our school with so much pride and confidence, and my goodness they looked stunning in their Pasifika uniform!

To our whānau who helped out today - we love you guys, what would we do without you!? Thank you for being our people we can always rely on 💕

To our whānau staying up until 2am this morning making our leaders’ pale fuiono - they looked amazing! We appreciate you beyond words 💕

To the whānau and staff who were able to watch our tamaiti perform…they loved seeing your faces in the crowd knowing you were there supporting them. They performed for you 💕

And to our own faiaoga - our selfless staff who created a story for our tamaiti to tell. Who perservered every week to get our group to this standard. Who ensured that we left noone behind on our journey. Our faiaoga who understand we are a whānau and even though we were not a complete whānau today, ensured we honoured and celebrated those who could not be on stage with us. Lapu and Whaea Raylene, thank you for having the passion to share your knowledge with us and provide a safe environment for our children to learn✨

It has been a great week at Blenheim School, there is no other school I would want to be a part of!

I absolutely adore these guys!

Mrs Thorstensen 😊
