Did you know that Marlborough is roughly divided into four geographic spaces?

1. Te Hoiere (Pelorus Valley from Rai Valley to D'Urville island)

2. Tōtaranui (Queen Charlotte Sound from Anakiwa to Arapaoa Island and beyond)

3. The Wairau Valley (from just before Nelson Lakes to the Wairau Bar)

4. Awatere Valley with South Coastal Marlborough, (to Willawa Point before Kekerengu)

Marlborough boasts 1,500 kilometres of New Zealand’s stunning coastline, intricately woven through the scenic Marlborough Sounds, and is home to nearly 80% of the country’s thriving wine industry, spread across our valleys 🍇

Don’t limit yourself to just one part of the region—each area of Marlborough offers unique experiences and hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

23 lighthouses in NZ, and this is just one of ours - Cape Campbell Lighthouse ✨

You can walk the Cape Campbell track right up to to this striking icon. An unmarked route follows the beach from the eastern end of the Marfells Beach camping area around to Cape Campbell, the southernmost extreme of Cook Strait.

Cape Campbell holds a unique assemblage of species on it's shores. Fur seals use the beaches and headlands for pupping and basking. Many sea birds have nesting colonies on the cape and it is a known migration route. With the ease of access, it is important to protect this landscape and wildlife and remember the Tiaki Promise.
