Situated above a lake with pretty rural views, we have everything that you need, with just about all of the comforts of home. Please note: We now have WiFi, so you can work and holiday at the same time if you have to! On

ly 10 minutes drive from the beach & Te Angiangi Marine Reserve, it is ideal for fishing enthusiasts, artists, writers, mountain bikers, road bikers (our road is sealed), hikers or those just wishing to have some peace & space in their lives. If you like biking, Central Hawke's Bay is full of great scenic rides with mountain bike and limestone trails around Waipukurau along the picturesque river. Porangahau is a scenic coastal drive of about 30kms, where you can play golf for $10 a round (9 Holes) against the backdrop of a beautiful beach. Or dine at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel or drive to see the longest place name - Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu - just the other side of Porangahau. We are located 22kms from Waipukurau and approx 70kms from Hastings The bach has a separate toilet, bath and shower. We live on the farm, so are nearby for phone use or anything you may have forgotten, yet The Shearers Quarters is completely private for you. An all-round cosy & comfortable place to stay. We look forward to welcoming you to The Shearer's Quarters.

Well we're off again, into our 11th holiday season and welcome you to book a stay at our little cottage in the beautiful Central Hawke's Bay countryside, complete with sheep, cattle and our beautiful dogs! Of course, you don't need to mingle with them but we are a working farm and from time to time there will be some activity in the woolshed and yards. Our guests love this, but it's optional.

Time to close the doors for winter. Thank you to all our lovely guests for coming to stay with us. You are all special and we loved meeting you. Hope to see you next year.

Autumn is upon us with apples, quince & crab apples glowing on the trees. Still time to have a few days at The Shearers Quarters before we close for the winter. Come and relax on the farm, take the kids to the local beach, watch the fantastic stars from the deck wrapped up in a blanket with a glass of red wine, read those books you haven't had time for and eat the yummy treats you've brought from the market. Whatever makes you feel happy, you can do it here
