Reminder: ETA link for the United Kingdom is now live (Electronic Travel Authority).
Effective from 8 January 2025, New Zealand nationals will be required to have an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) to enter the United Kingdom. Applications will be accepted as of 27 November 2024 and will cost £10 per application. To apply, follow this link www.gov.uk/electronic-travel-authorisation which will also lead to more details and information, including requirements for other nationalities. Please note it can take up to 3 days to obtain so please ensure you are prepared! ✈️

🌍✈️ Planning a UK holiday in 2025? 🇬🇧

From 8 January 2025, New Zealand passport holders heading to the UK visa-free will need to complete an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they fly. This will be mandatory for all New Zealanders and in addition to any further visa's you may require. I.e. working visa.

🗓️ Passport holders will be able to apply for an ETA from today, 27 November 2024! So you can get ahead of the game and tick this off your travel checklist.

Many of you know Alisha - who is our Polar & Adventure travel specialist and she returned in February to the HOT Ferrymead team after being on maternity leave with gorgeous Finn.

🟣 Do you have a nickname:
Not that I’d share with the general public lol

🟣 What is one of your most memorable travel experiences and why?
Living out of a van with my husband for three months travelling through Europe in 2014. Europe is always a highlight for me – I love the different layers of history that is unique to each destination, exploring chocolate box villages, cobblestone streets and beautiful coastlines. I’m an absolute sucker for a Portuguese custard tart.

🟣 What’s your favourite country?
It’s hard to choose, how can you compare something like the Norwegian Arctic to the Pyramids of Giza or the Islands of Fiji? But I do have a particular soft spot for Mexico. Such a diverse country with turquoise waters of the Caribbean, the surf beaches of Oaxaca, incredible history and culture spanning thousands of years, and of course the foods is just unreal.

🟣 What is your number one tip for travelling internationally?
Be prepared to roll with the punches and keep an open mind.

🟣 Do you have any favourite apps when travelling and why?
WhatsApp for keeping in touch with friends and family and for coordinating with locals

🟣 What do you enjoy most about your role?
So many things! Helping people to realise travel dreams, reuniting loved ones and getting to share my passion for travel with others every day. Plus I get to work with an incredible team of like-minded, passionate and experienced consultants.

🟣 How long have you worked for House of Travel Ferrymead?
I started in 2015 and have had some time out working for other travel companies, then outside of the travel industry during covid and on parental leave.
