TL Parker and Motorola, in partnership with New Zealand Red Cross, have custom-designed an Extended Range Direct-Mode Repeater system to be the next generation digital replacement for analogue repeater units throughout the South Pacific Region. This customized option allows the unit to be set up at Disaster Management Hub (DMH) locations without any reprogramming of simplex VHF radios. This will save Red Cross valuable down time during emergencies by eliminating the need for programming delays. The SLR1000 can also be IP linked to give Red Cross as much coverage as required during operations. The custom pelican case consists of the SLR1000 Extended Range Direct-Mode Repeater, repeater battery, 3.5-metre RolaTube antenna, switch kit and connectors. It is designed to be easily transported, plugged in power, and ready to go.

TL Parker Limited Installs HANDS FREE Operated SOLAR POWERED Radios

To ensure a SAFER, CONTACTLESS COVID-19 working environment, TL Parker Limited has designed and installed the Mototola DM4601 Radio with FOOT PEDAL and HANDS FREE MICROPHONE for Steve Murphy Transport in order to comply with Daiken OHS regulations.

In this case, multiple users can safely communicate with the crane operator WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING, and as the container housing the Motorola DM4601 Radio is regularly moved around the site, the entire solution is powered via a solar panel.

Michael is T L Parker Limited’s Network Engineer who has designed the Orion NZ Connect Plus Network for the Wellington and Christchurch node. The Network become live in March 2010. Michael clearly demonstrated his understanding and implementation by way of his accuracy and knowledge in the design and build of these Motorola Digital Networks within 6 months of joining T L Parker Limited.
Since then, Michael has worked on many projects and continues to develop his network engineering skills to new levels - projects of special mention, but not limited to:
- New Zealand Aviation Security's national roll out, seamless conversions from Smartnet to Connect-Plus Networks, and delivering the first 800mhz DM/DP 4000 in New Zealand.
- Christchurch International Airport’s conversion from Smartnet to Connect Plus, Capacity Max with Wave 5000 deployment and backed by Turbonet software
- Canterbury District Health Board’s Connect-Plus/Capacity Plus wide area Network across every hospital and emergency response centre throughout Canterbury
- BT Mining’s Multi-Site IP site connect designed, engineered and built by TL Parker Limited- with the harshest weather experienced in New Zealand to date, this has been the most extreme build .
Michael’s Network Design and infrastructure had a 0% failure rate through the over 1000 earthquakes experienced in Christchurch.
