Is a private tour actually worth it?

"We did a private group West Coast Wilderness cycle tour for 14 of us.
Our second trip with Adventure South and some of our group.. their 3rd,
due to their professionalism.

Our guides Sue and Henry were outstanding, always thinking about the
details to provide us with the best possible experience. Excellent explanation of the cycle trails and what to expect of each leg.

We also loved the local hikes to Hokitika Gorge and Punakaiki Rocks.
We loved staying at the local accommodation and got to experience some amazing local hospitality.

Overall, an amazing way to see and experience the West Coast - absolutely recommended"

You either love them or hate them, there's no in-between. Which side are you on?

Autumn in New Zealand heralds the arrival of a green, egg-size fruit that falls off trees in such abundance that it is often given to neighbors by the bucket or even the wheelbarrow load. Feijoa (pronounced fee-jo-ah) has a tangy taste that is hard to describe, even for die-hard fans. Grazyna just came back from her trip and has already booked the next one!😍🥰

"Our trip on the Otago Trail was fantastic. The accommodation and food were first class. The area we rode through was beautiful. Our two guides Rudi and Calum were very professional and caring making sure we were all happy and that all our concerns or questions were dealt with promptly... The bikes were first class, new and well maintained. Every morning when we finished with breakfast the bikes were ready for us to begin our ride.

The scenery was particularly beautiful from Lauder to Wedderburn. The highest point and the tunnels were so good to see and experience. Was surprised to see sheep acting like mountain goats climbing up over rocky and steep terrain."

All the way from Hawaii, Maureen got to experience NZ's Wild West Coast!😎

"It's hard to list all the amazing parts of this trip although let’s start with the guides, Sean and Sam. Both were excellent bikers and really knew how to explain and describe the various aspects of each ride. The personal stories Sean and Sam shared were really interesting and provided extra context to this adventure. In addition they took extra care to make sure all riders were comfortable and confident with the activities.
Moving on to the actual rides - each one was awesome! The views, flora and fauna, and trails were so fun. There was enough single track to get some excitement while also wide enough to chat with partners as you rode along.
All accommodations and meals were fabulous with the best being meals provided by Col, an amazing host and chef. All around fabulous experience."

A hidden gem in South Canterbury, the Clay Cliffs in Omarama will transport you to Mars with its incredibly unique rock formations and landforms.

"The A2O was always going to be my biggest challenge but the two tour guides encouraged me all the way and made it fun.

My most memorable part of the trip was the hard challenging up hill climb to Tarnbrae Saddle from Lake Ohau and the thrill of arriving at the top! It felt like such an achievement to accomplish. But the side trips were always most interesting and showcased local businesses.

The accommodation and food was first class and always welcomed after a good day of biking.
