Great news people…

Troy is back! 🤩🍾🍻

Troy was our Senior Carpenter 12 years ago until he got itchy feet and went wandering up north.

12 years later and he’s come to his senses and we’re delighted to have him back as the Foreman of our other A-Team (no B-Teams in Radius 😊)

Here he is on site with Shayne (our other A-Team Foreman) and Garry (our Construction Manager) getting some cladding onto our project in Lincoln.

We even caught our admin queen Michele on camera giving her new gumboots a work out.

The Radius team recently completed this beauty in North Canterbury for our awesome client Emma and her family. 🥰

This is a really cool family home with some gorgeous design features. It was a pleasure building this for Emma. Thanks to Joe Perkinson for a job well done. .

The May/June 2024 Edition of Abode is out now and Radius Building have an awesome article featured on the incredible "Superhome" build in Cashmere.

This is a very interesting read and goes into some great detail around the Radius Teams early contractor engagement. It's so important and provides significant benefits to our clients particularly in complex projects like this one.

We couldn't be more proud of the team for producing this award winning home. 🏆

Every job has it’s perks and my absolute favourite perk as a builder, is working on some building projects together with the kids on our lifestyle block.

Our youngest, Neve, wanted to upsize the chicken flock and decided she could build the new chook house herself (with perhaps a little help from yours truly). 🐔🐔🐔

Part of the deal was that she did it completely out of off-cuts and recycled materials so we went digging around behind the barn to see what we could find.

We got the chooks in for a mid project inspection and everyone agreed that it was a great result. 🏡

The new chooks are loving life in their new home and I can definitely say I’m a very proud Dad. 💙

I popped out to site yesterday for a client meeting and the electrical walk through and thought I’d better share some photos of the roof that went on last week. 😄

Fun fact - As this is a skillion roof (the living room ceiling is parallel to the roof cladding) it has a vented cavity which helps keep the roof space cool and prevents moisture related problems by allowing airflow through the roof space.

Another great co-lab by the Radius Team, Membrane Masters and JRS Trades.

Good timing as well with the weather and I’m sure it will be looking a little less dusty now. ☔️

The heart of the home is said to be the kitchen. 💚

It’s that open space where families gather to catch up, create something delicious (or throw something quickly together if you’re like me!), do school work at the island and generally connect with each other.

We’ve completed a number of homes over the years and no two are ever the same. That goes for the kitchens as well!

Last year, we completed this gorgeous new home in Avonhead and whilst conducting his final checks, Richard couldn't help but get the camera out again! 📸🤣

This is a very well thought out and designed family home to love and we are especially fond of the polished concrete floors! 🥰

All good things come to an end……….

And having Jordan (aka Noodge) (aka Frosty) on the team since January 2018 has definitely been a good thing and it’s with much sadness we say farewell as he heads off to greener pastures (literally) on the West Coast.

From fresh faced teenager to the mulleted and stubbled bloke of today it’s been a pleasure being part of his journey and taking him from novice to trade qualified carpenter with a great set of trade skills.

He’s pretty camera shy but we managed to catch him a few times and his constant smile was always appreciated by the team.

Thanks Jordan for 6 years of hard work and commitment. You’re a champ and it’s been our pleasure to have you on the team.

Stairs take you to another level (literally, the second floor 🤣🤣🤣) and there are plenty of options for construction, materials, styling and lighting. Stairs are often very unique to the design and character of your home. Check out these stairs from some of our recent projects...

We particularly love the 4.2m high timber panelled entrance and how the 2.7m high stud with full height doors enhance the sense of space.

Attending the Awards this afternoon, we were immensely proud to hear it announced that Rob's home was awarded New Zealand's Super Home of the Year.
A massive congratulations to Rob for taking out this award and Hi-5's to our incredible staff and wonderful team of sub trades who contributed to this project.

It's our first post for a while! It's been a busy time and the Radius Team have been involved in a lot of interesting projects.

Here’s some quick pics of a recently completed ensuite make over.

Some details to check out….
• Bath and Level entry shower all in one wet space
• Solid Beech vanity
• Full length tiled shelf

We particularly like how the tiled skirting, tiled wall and gib board all finish flush. It's a very refined, seamless look.

It's been a while! 😅

It's been a very busy time for the Radius Team and in that time, we've been doing what we do best. Building beautiful homes for great people. 🏡

As we come into Christmas and the summer break, we would like to thank everyone we've worked with in 2023 for your support and hope you all have a relaxing and much deserved holiday. 🤩🙏

I did something new today....

Definitely not something that comes naturally to me and there's certainly no intention of a career change to 'Influencer'. (I'm still not exactly sure what that even is).

The good news is that I managed to get through it without breaking out the 'duck lips' 🦆💋

Here's a blast from the past! 🤩

We finished this very cool alteration a few years ago but recently snuck back and grabbed a few photos (obviously with permission 😂)

The highlights included...

- 120m2 of floor area added across both levels
- All new double-glazed aluminium joinery to replace the old timber joinery
- 100mm of EPS insulation to the exterior cladding with new plaster render on top

But the ULTIMATE highlight is definitely the glass pyramid conservatory. Check it out! 😁

Recently, Radius Building turned 17 years young and we're still going strong! 💪

I started my own business because I wanted to give my clients something special. A standard of service and incredibly built homes, that were everything they deserved and more.

After 17 years, a lot has changed. Our team, our vehicles, my face (it's a bit more wrinkled) but my goal hasn't changed and never will.

My mission is to continue giving my clients the epic service and stress free process they deserve, the beautifully constructed homes come as standard. 🤩

An invisible garage door can blend into the appearance of your home, creating a seamless and continuous look.

These homes are two beautiful examples of how stunning an invisible garage door (also known as Flush Mount garage doors) can look. With meticulously pattern-matched cedar cladding to give further consistency, it's a gorgeous design feature. 🥰
