Collating multiple site visits into one trip, we work efficiently as possible to reduce your cost whilst ensuring the best service and attention to detail.

With an aim to cut down on the use of steel, our structural team engineered this beautiful open space using specifically detailed plywood roof and shear walls. 📋🏠

Murney Building, Ashburton - GOLD 🥇✨
"A functioning work of structural art" this building is one of a kind. A jewel of Ashburton, sitting proudly as a beacon for the CBD. Marrying contemporary architecture with heritage materials, copper and timber detailing, this building homes commercial spaces, The Fine Lion bar and a private family area including a roof top BBQ lounge. This was a complex project for our team with its tight site, small footprint to height ratio meant innovative structural solutions were a necessity. "A standout feature of the building is cantilevered balcony to the north and west façade." (TMCo - full suite of engineering.)

TMCo's Structural, Civil, Fire, Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulics team worked together with the client, architect and contractors to achieve a new generation of energy efficient building. Marrying the use of high thermal mass and utilising solar energy, leaving boundaries in their wake and leading the way to more innovative, sustainable buildings with greater longevity. Welcoming Mike, our newest member of the services BIM team, (sorry you've been robbed of the "Newest" title so soon Richard 😄), and we're back to four Mikes/Michaels working in TMCo's Christchurch office! So please, if you call, make sure you know which Mike you're after 😅!

Mike started his CAD career back in 2011, ambitious and striving to learn more he delved deeper into the realms of BIM in 2013. Mike loves working within a team and helping share his extensive knowledge by teaching others. Feeling accomplished when celebrating project success achieved by the massive team efforts behind every successful design, fitout and building!

While Mike was not named after Michael Owen, Jordan or Schumacher, he probably should've been named after a combination of all three since Mike is quite the car enthusiast, and a huge basketball and football fan. A proud Liverpool FC supporter since 1997 after he wrote to Michael Owen and received a written response! Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, Hayley, and Wally (when he can find him 🤓😄).

Kamusta! Welcoming Richard Garcia to the TMCo Christchurch team.

We're still pinching ourselves to have Richard join us, arguably one of NZ's leading senior BIM modelers, having provided in depth training across the industry and has also been employed directly by Autodesk.

He has his own BIM training YouTube channel and has a love for piano playing too! 🎹🎵🎶 All of which he has done on his own a-chord. 👏🏻

On that note, Richard genuinely loves communicating with modelers, engineers, architects, project managers, tradespersons and clients. Providing an invested and passionate service is one of the many ways TMCo partners collaboratively on your project. All day, every day, we are all about making projects thrive and prosper.

The TMCo team is very proud to be nominated in the Commercial Building Awards this year for our class-leading energy efficient factory located in Christchurch.

TMCo's services team were tasked with introducing an intricate ventilation and energy recovery system working alongside TMCo's Civil and Structural team, marrying the use of high thermal mass and solar energy. The team thoroughly enjoyed working on this job, working with a fantastic client who questions and looks beyond all boundaries, leading the way to more innovative, sustainable buildings with greater longevity. It was a job that our team enjoyed creating innovative solutions for.

It was also great working with Calder Stewart and Boyd Chamberlain on this boundary pushing project.

To liven up the working week, TMCo wanted to do something different.

We decided to play on the 22 and wear a tutu, enjoy 2-4-1 burgers and splash a bit of colour around the office.

We also took a minute’s silence at 12:55pm to remember those we lost and everyone who was affected by the earthquake that struck 11 years ago today in Christchurch.

We decided to donate to NZ Mental Health Foundation. A charity we feel is very relevant in this current climate.

Argh....😣 Does it pain you like it pains us to hear that disposable masks offer far better protection than cloth masks, even though they're not the better option for the environment? Frustrating when we're all trying to be as sustainable as possible?

Well, here's a small win✨, did you know that disposable masks can be washed up to 10 times and they are still better at filtering than cloth masks! We thought this was interesting so hopefully you do too and we hope this inspires more to wash your disposable masks and try to look after our planet.♻🍃

On that note, please enter our offices masked up, with vaccine passports at the ready and unfortunately we wont be able to provide food or drinks for the time being. We do however endeavour to work along side you and maintain close relationships to ensure projects run as streamlined as possible in such an ever changing 'fluid' climate. 🤙

Guess where we are?!! 🍩

TM Consultants were engaged by the Ministry of Education, PXA Architects and School Support.

After overcoming hurdles such as lockdowns and materials shortages, the team successfully managed bespoke engineered systems designed by TM Consultants with exceptional results.

This week, excited locals and students of the Springfield community are ready to enjoy this fantastic new learning facility.

Well done team! Was a pleasure to work alongside you all again. 👏🎉✨

Here’s a project that really got the cogs of our structural team churning!
A tight, tricky site and tough architectural demands called for high quality technical structural engineering to get the structure working. With piled foundations and plenty of concrete and steel tucked within this site which is now home to retail & commercial spaces on the lower levels and elegant central city apartment living on the upper levels, with a beautiful spiral staircase to finish off this luxury space.


TMCo provided the structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fire, security, H1, stormwater and seismic engineering to this stunning Christchurch City addition.
