You might have had an invite to our Anne et Valentin Trunk Show arrive in your inbox, but just what is a Trunk Show?

Much like any industry we have our frame Reps come to us to show off their new products, and since we have some amazing reps, they sometimes allow us the opportunity of opening up their rep 'trunks' of all frame models to show off to you as well.

What this means is that the same day we get to see new frame models, you get to see them too! We double our frame stock in the practice for the afternoon - its quite exciting!

For every new frame there might be 4-6 colours, and for each new frame family there might be 6 different models - and I, gentle groovy reader, might only choose to take 2 models of 6 and 2 colours of the 4.

The Trunk Show means that you get to see and order beyond what we ordered for the showroom - Dennis is an amazing Groover who came to the last Anne et Valentin show in 2023 and as you can tell from his photo had a great time choosing three brand new frames!

You can make an appointment to browse (call 03-379-8747), or you can walk in and browse over the afternoon on November 27th, 2024 1pm - 5pm

A beautiful time of the day to be certain. The world around us pauses for a moment before its bursts into activity.

The latest family from theo is bright and crisp and colour filled.

Dawn is also a perfect time for a paused moment in a cafe with a coffee and breakfast - and we rather like the eclectic surrounds of Belle Cafe & Micro-Roastery right here at the end of New Regent Street.

Alba - from the Latin or Spanish and Italian - has the size and depth to carry off the colours of a sunrise over the deep green fields with flare.

Like the name Groovy Glasses suggests we don't do the usual. We do the interesting, we do the classics, we do the quirky... we definitely like to help you stand out from the crowd. And we enjoy bringing together members of our team who do those same things.

Caiti is our quirky, pet loving eyewear consultant. Seriously, if you've walked your dog down then you've met Caiti 🙂.

Caiti is wearing her own Anne et Valentin Figari frame - and she also has the amazing Bari in Purple for her suns!

Caiti came from hospitality two years ago, highly recommended for her beautiful way with customers and she — and you — haven't looked back since.

Indeed, she's decided opticianry is THE career for her - she's now enrolled in the ACOD Dispensing Optician course and in 1.5 years time she will be a fully fledged Dispensing Optician in her own right. How awesome is that Groovers!

If theres ever a face that is as iconic as the name Groovy Glasses, its our wonderful Karen!

Karen is wearing Anne et Valentin Sheryl sunglass is the new green/tort combo, and to match Liz, the HOHO but in the tort/black combo.

Did you know that Karen's worked since the age of 18 for the optometry practice that finally became Groovy Glasses? That deserves a round of applause Groovers! I won't spill how many years that actually is... I mean, we're all still 29 at heart, right?

I know many of you have been styled by her over the years, or more recently sought her final opinion when being styled by one of our younger members of staff - do you have a great story of working with Karen in the past? Or maybe a photo of a big event that Karen helped you style glasses for?

A big round of HAALLOOO's to Ruby who is our newest Groover all set to help you with your next groovy frame choices!

Ruby has most recently been studying in marketing while working part time in optics, and now she gets to blend them both together working both with you, our loyal Groovers, and for us as she is the gal with the camera taking these beautiful staff shots you will see over the next few weeks!

You know we love a good transformation - and Ruby is doing exactly that by taking out the sun lenses of SOLVEIG to wear it as an optical frame!
