Tir na Nog 'Let's Talk' Homestay Accommodation Homestay Accommodation for International and NZ Adult Students operating since 2008. Close to Canter We have offered our home as a homestay since 2008.
(4)

During this time, we have hosted over 50 students. We offer unparalleled proximity to CCEL(Christchurch College of English Language) students but are also within a 21 minute walk/14 minute bus from the University of Canterbury. We are able to host 4 students. Each student has their own room. Our student rooms have comfortable beds, study tables/desks and chairs, study lighting, wardrobes with shel

ves/drawers. Breakfast (self-serve) and dinner is provided Monday-Friday. At weekends lunch is available if
required. Our students frequently comment on their enjoyment of the food which includes home-made soups, home baking-scones, cookies, cakes made with butter etc.,
Previous expertise as a food technologist and our experience (over 7 years) of hosting students from Brazil, Chile, China, Columbia, Egypt, Finland, India. Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sri Lanka,
Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and Tibet, enables us (probably better than most), to understand and assist with dietary requirements. We go out of our way to ensure that most student’s eating preferences are
accommodated in order for them to live as comfortably as they do at home. Hence our students tend to extend rather than shorten their stay. Facilities Include:
*All bed linen and towels are provided
*Bathrooms (2) both with showers and 2 toilets
*Laundry facilities for your use.
*Free local phone calls
*Broadband internet (Wi-fi) included
Cost:
• We charge $287 per week per person.
• We accept cash or bank deposits.
• We are unable to accept credit cards or Eftpos payments
When our students leave, they are given the opportunity to provide an honest opinion of their time with us. Many choose to practice their English writing. Other students, by writing in their first language, are able to 'talk' to new students which helps them to feel at home with us. Our students often keep in contact through Facebook and via email.

Since opening our shelter doors nine months ago, we've helped 124 pets and provided 8,310 Safe Beds Nights. Crucially 75 pets have been able to go home to start a new life. That's thanks to you.

With your support, we're able to be here to meet the increasing demand, and to care for more vulnerable pets while their families escape an abusive home.

I spent over 14 years fighting similar closures in the UK. Prior to arriving in NZ, we would look to this country as being inspirational in its maternity care. Now similar closures are curtailing choices for future mothers and babies. Once lost, these precious units will ever be replaced. Please support this petition to make the future brighter for NZ mothers and babies.

7,159 signatures are still needed! Save St. George's Birthing Unit!

If this happens, which it should, would be interested in how we might assist with accommodation.
