🍂🎥 Autumn Updates on life on Lake Dunstan🚤🍁
If you’ve been out on board recently you’ll have been drifting through a palette of fiery reds, golden yellows, and rich oranges reflected perfectly on the serene waters of Lake Dunstan.
It’s a visual feast that you won’t want to miss, making every moment on the lake an unforgettable experience. We reckon autumn is one of the best times to explore Central Otago.
Anyway, beyond the Autumn colours, what have we been up to?
Well, we’ve had some pretty awesome days on the Explorer recently. Stay tuned to hear more about our first-ever tandem bike on board! And supporting the Southern Lakes Swim Club annual swim out to Coffee & Burger Afloat…
As well as all this, we’ve got a hot tip for you… Mother’s Day is less than a month away. And, we do vouchers… for any adventurous Mum’s out there. Get in touch with us to grab her a voucher or book in. If you just fancy taking Mum for a day out on the water or somewhere for lunch, we can do that too!

Spotted this well camouflaged local on Lake Dunstan recently. He’s a well rounded bachelor who’s unlikely to get a cold this winter as he had eaten every Rosehip Berry (high in vitamin c) in sight in the bay he currently calls home. He’s also just far enough off the trail to not be any trouble to those riders fortunate enough to be enjoying the awesome Lake Dunstan Trail in all its autumn glory.
Better a bad day on the water than a good day in the office 😉…And a good day on the water is just something else 🙌🏼We hope everyone is enjoying their Waitangi Day break from the norm. This is just a little insight into one part of our day (and yours) when you come to join us on the Lake Dunstan Explorer.Like clockwork… - We arrive into McNulty Inlet in Cromwell, where we meet you or your bike hire shuttle service at the wharf- Any passengers from Clyde we drop off to start the trail…- At McNulty Inlet you can safely leave your car, just a stone’s throw from the jetty- The jetty itself makes getting on and off the boat a breeze. And of course, we’re there to help!- From here we whisk you off down the length of the cycle trail, meandering as we go, exploring the incredible sites along the waySound like something you’d enjoy?Explore our website to book online or drop us a line to enquire! Another stunning day on Lake Dunstan today perfect for riding the trail little to no wind 26 degrees. My normal day traveling the 22km of lake surface to Cromwell or back to Clyde involves showing my passengers the trail they are about to ride or have just riden as well as being aware of other lake users mostly boats and jet skis and then this guy turns up that’s a first.Never a dull moment on Lake Dunstan which is why I love my job and this piece of paradise.
Wildlife
Never get sick of these guys what a great life they have and what a stunning morning on the Lake Dunstan Trail.
Local Weed Eaters
Spotted these locals recently doing some maintenance (weed eating) on the Lake Dunstan Cycle Trail.Anyone seen these trail personalities recently they’ve got a bit more friendly lately ?
