Let Coromandel Discovery Tours drive you to the magnificent Coromandel Coastal Walkway, on a one day informative sightseeing tour to the rugged and remote tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. Our new improved route takes you on an anticlockwise journey of the complete Northern Coromandel. You will pass through the remote villages of Kennedy Bay, Tuateawa and Waikawau before a brief stop at Tangiaro Lodge for morning tea.
We continue to the drop off point at Stony Bay where you start the 3 to 4 hour self guided walk of 10 kms with options a plenty for a lunch stop along the way. Pickup is at Fletcher Bay at the completion of your walk where you can enjoy refreshments before starting the journey home along the Coast Road. The island studded Hauraki Gulf is simply stunning and is home to dolphins, whales and plentiful bird life. Last stop is at the Iconic Colville Village with its infamous General Store and Hereford N a Pickle Cafe, renown for its cuts of prime home grown hereford beef.
The trip starts from our base at 105 Wharf Road, Coromandel at 8.30 a.m and returns around 5 to 6pm. This truly is a trip to the Last Frontier with beautiful scenery and experiences you will not forget.
Your driver will transport you in a modern 9 seater airconditioned minibus along a thin sliver of gravel road, often unable to be traversed by rental vehicles. You will see timeless landscapes, ancient volcanoes, pohutukawa trees and dramatic coastlines - all set against the backdrop of the island studded Hauraki Gulf and the Pacific Ocean. The views are breathtaking!
