A message from Ngati Huarere

Ngati Huarere ki Whangapoua has placed a rāhui on the area from the steps by the Whangapoua store to Wainuiototo (New Chums) end of Whangapoua beach out to Motuto (the point by New Chums) including Pungapunga Island.

They sre ssking all people to please observe this rāhui thereby respecting the life of the person who passed away yesterday by refrain ing from water activities and seafood harvesting in this area.

The rahui period is 13 - 20 February 2025.

𝗜𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁: Essential maintenance will be carried out at Kennedy Bay, Tuateawa, and Little Bay from tomorrow resulting in road closures between 9am and 2.45pm. More details below. 👇

Traffic will be allowed through at hourly intervals during this time. All other times, Stop/Go traffic management will be in place.

- Monday 10 February – Kennedy Bay Road, south of Moana Cres
- Tuesday 11 February – Tuateawa Road, between Waihirere Drive and Rabarts Road
- Wednesday 12 – February – Tuateawa Road, south of Little Bay Drive

A car key was handed into the Information Centre found on the Harray Track today. It is for a Mazda. If they are yours, the Centre closes at 4pm today, open at 9.30 tomorrow morning.
