Key safety tips for swimming at the beach.

1. Swim at beaches patrolled by surf life saving clubs.

2. Swim between the flags.

3. Don’t drink alcohol and swim.

4. Don’t let children near water unsupervised.

5. Read the warning signs and take note of the following:

RIP CURRENT DANGER

In the below picture we see a perfect small-scale version of a rip current!
Arrows 1 and 2 represent the sandbars, which is where you want to be! (This is why we advise swimming parallel to the shore because you will get out of a rip and in most cases onto a sand bar.)
Arrows 3 and 4 represent the feeder current, which is water being drawn into the rip current. If you’re in a feeder current, you are being sucked into the rip!

Arrow 5 represents the rip current! That's where water is being sucked out into the gulf and if you’re in the rip you’re going with it!

Have a wonderful time at the Sea but never forget SAFETY ALWAYS FIRST!!!

The only way to get to Cathedral Cove for now is by sea, and the Cathedral Cove Water Taxi takes you from Hahei Beach to land on the sand at the famous cove. You will be at Cathedral Cove for 1 hour, plenty of time to soak up the ambience, take photographs, swim and relax (and there will be some places you will not be able to access safely.) Taxi operates daily from 10:100am if weather and sea conditions are good.

The Spa, with all the jets and the stars. The sauna with speakers and colour therapy as well as full spectrum infrared. The 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 lovely bathrooms. The 2 decks, the garden, the privacy, walking distance to town and all the restaurants. Or cook in the ample kitchen. Fireplace if it's chilly and for atmosphere, but it's such a warm house anyway. Character features , giant couches, mod cons. massage therapy and facials next door..... Did I mention the beaches?
