**Namibia Visa Changes for 2025**. Nothing changes if you are a NZ Passport or Australian Passport Holder but for NZ Residents with a UK, US and a number of European Passports, a Visa on arrival will be required from April 1, 2025. The new Visa Fee will be N$1 600 (approx NZD 148).

Namibia will officially enforce its visa requirement for non-reciprocating countries from April 1, 2025, while also increasing the cost of visa fees for travellers from non-African Union (AU) Member

**Malawi Now Visa Free for NZers**

Malawi has joined neighbour Zambia in allowing Visa Free Travel for NZ Passport Holders. Those holding Australian, UK and US passports are also on the just gazetted visa waiver list.

Definitely a guiding legend! I've had the pleasure of joining Wayne on tour. Wayne is one of a number of guides who've been part of the Sunway Safaris family for 10+ years.

A 15 year LEGEND! Our guide Wayne Mwango is coming up on his 15 year anniversary with Sunway Safaris. Another top quality guide with a long list of amazing reviews from clients over the years. Wayne's career started back in 2005 when he did his first guiding course, and since then he has not looked back.

Sharing some lovely client feedback from their recent experience on the Zimbabwe and Botswana Game Tracker (ZB16).

Too many "peak" experiences to choose only one.... walking with rhinos, watching concurrent sunset and moonrise (full moon!) in the Okavango, night safari with lions and spring hares.... but I think my favorite was the night in Miombo when we arrived back from night safari to find the elephants visiting the watering hole, which was directly across from our tent... After watching them for a couple of hours, they decided the trees on our side of the road were better than those at the watering hole, so they strolled across the way and wandered around our tent, munching as they went. One mama walked up to the front porch of the tent while we watched from the doorway, plucked a few vinca flowers from the verge, then raised her trunk and explored the edge of the porch and just looked and sniffed at us there in the doorway for about 10 minutes. It was magical, dreamlike- so real and yet so unbelievable! Afterwards our guide asked if we were frightened, but honestly we were so awestruck we just didn't think about being afraid. It just seemed so clear that they were curious about us (and our strange smell I expect!), and it was a moment of connection across continents and species that I will treasure forever. And of course it never occurred to me to take a photo-- totally caught up in the moment!!

I think I didn't mention how much we enjoyed our guides, Marcus and Shandle. They kept us moving and entertained (despite the "vintage" age of the group) and were so very personable and knowledgeable about the animals, birds, plants, etc and even about current events (they had elections in Zimbabwe as we traveled there). And they are both great cooks!!! The afternoon we were in camp in the Delta Marcus made scones and served "high tea" in the kitchen tent while the elephants surrounded our camp on all sides.

Adult female Siato of the Kyaguliro mountain gorilla group 'B' gave birth yesterday to a healthy baby. The group composition now becomes 7 individuals.

Here are some interesting facts about these courageous cats!

- The average weight of a male lion is 190kg and a female can weigh around 126kg
- A lions roar can be heard from up to 5km away
- Male lions protect the prides territory and lionesses do most of the hunting
- The dark mane on a lion signifies maturity - the darker the main, the older the lion
- Lions are the second largest cats in the world!
- Lionesses in the same pride will raise their cubs communally.

Lions are one of our personal favourites and we’re so lucky to hear them roar almost every night!
Isn’t that roarsome?!

Mozambique has finally lifted its Covid-19 restrictions. 🎉

This means there are now no covid travel restrictions in any of the Southern Africa destinations where Sunway operates its affordable small group accommodated and camping safaris.
