Last night's races were an absolute blast with this energetic crowd! The highlight was undoubtedly the steeple chase, which saw Wippett emerge victorious on My Dingaling. The mystery may have gone unsolved, but the evening was a resounding success. Bring on the next event!

Between shadows, we had a daylight Sea Ghost Tour with our neighbors at Port Otago, hearing many interesting stories about our sea port town. However, the hair-raising moment for me was a chilling ghost tour, a group wrapped in plastic, and a pair of handcuffs - all in a night's work!

An easterly breeze swept through the shadowed areas of Port Chalmers as we navigated the evening, uncovering the locality's haunted past. Our nocturnal excursion included a stop at Iona Church, where we ascended the bell tower, strolled through the historic cemetery, and visited the Port Chalmers Maritime Museum. We extend our gratitude to Port Otago for facilitating our evening access.

FREAKY FRIDAY!
Recently, an Underbelly Crime Walk guest revealed that the infamous Minnie Dean hatbox had been passed on to their family by Minnie's daughter. Adamant the box is haunted, it is stored in the attic and only comes out on special occasions.(In this case, for a few photos :)
On August 12th,1895, Minnie Dean was found guilty of infanticide 'baby farming' and sentenced to death in Invercargill by hanging. Minnie Dean is buried in Winton Cemetery.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY- The Ghost of The Grey Lady appeared before a student in the halls of Cumberland College Dunedin in 2012, sparking a major ghost hunt. The student in question claimed she saw a figure coming towards her wearing what appeared to be a hat and long coat. I can assure you I was not there that evening!
This photograph was taken the following morning after I received a call from another student who also witnessed the ethereal figure.
