On Wednesdays we ride!
Yup there are a few rocks to avoid at the moment,
But we also found the little pockets of powder.
Fun times just having one on one time with little dude.
If you want to sneak a weekday, it's definately the best time up the Maunga with less lines, apart from the ones you get to carve yourself in the snow.
Bring on the next storm!
This wall had been bugging us for ages after a group put large sticky notes on it and ripped the paint and plaster off (please don't stick things to our walls!)
And it's been like this for well over a year.
We had friends here over the weekend celebrating Kylies 40th, and we had discussed multiple ways on mending the holes..... So we then jumped at the moment of having a creative crew here and just when everyone was packing up to leave the paint came out...
After school/daycare swim in the local river.
Some might call it cold, others might call it refreshing.

I love a burrito bowl, but it was also a case of doing this without tomato's.... Challenge accepted.
Coconut rice with black beans
Pulled pork (or jackfruit for the vegetarians)
Slaw
Pineapple and Corn Salsa
And of course condiments of pickled onions, jalapeΓ±os and sour cream on the side.
Desert was using in season apricots to make a simple rough tart.
Tomorrow is the final night and will be a bit of a mish mash to use up ingredients.
Think soup, salads, fresh bread and I'm thinking a brownie...
There is a severe tomato allergy in the group, so I had to make up a pasta sauce that had no tomatoes in it.
Any guesses to what could be in it? (Think roasted Veges)
Ricotta Spinach Gnocchi for the vegos in a walnut butter sauce.
Simple salad and Greens. Creamy mash not pictured.
And everyone is loving my homemade bread!
Night off for the baking for me, cheated with yummy store brought cakes for the night.
Figured out the menu this morning, dash to the supermarket (where I then changed my mind there)
Got this done in 3.5hrs after having to do the other day job today.
Whole roasted Cauliflower with a smoked cheese sauce (recipe from Ben's Auntie Julie's book - Shared Kitchen)
Roasted Chickens
New Potatoes
Orzo Salad
Rocket Pear & Pumpkin Salad with candy walnuts, pomegranate and blue cheese
Corn (cause its in season)
Sticky Date and Cream for dessert.
(there was a night 3 too, it was a Korma Curry.... I just forgot to take photos)
4 down, 3 more to go.
Dinner number 2 for the week.
Big week this week.

"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of your life"

Sunday Funday
The kids have been a bit under the weather so we got them out into some fresh air for a family walk. Which means the kids run off ahead...
It's a 3.5km track one way, so to save our backs carrying the small ones we walked halfway then turned around (so we only did 3.5kms all up)
Nice easy trail following the river. Was definitely cooler in the bush and glad we put the Thermals on.
Even had to switch the smallest to be on the front cause he wanted to keep looking around.
