The Feilding Marathon started in 1955. It has been held every year since, meaning it now has the reputation of being the 3rd longest "run" of any marathon worldwide. (beat Boston!) This year marks the 70th Feilding Marathon. Still going strong in the rural heartland New Zealand. The festival also includes the 28th Roy Lamberton Memorial Half Marathon, 10km, 5km, and 2.5km run or walk options.
Never run a Marathon? Then why not make Feilding part of your special moment. The event is organised by Feilding Moa Harrier & Athletics Club with all proceeds going back into supporting grass-roots club activities such as youth development, upgrade of facilities, and equipment. We look forward to giving you a very friendly welcome to Feilding whether you are a local or have travelled from afar.

Feilding Soldiers Memorial Rededication 🛩⛴🪂

The Soldiers Memorial in Manchester Square, Feilding, was erected after World War One as a place where people could go and reflect on the sacrifice that so many made. Since then further records have been added to the memorial but NZ Service personnel have served (and on occasions died) in Operational areas throughout the world including service here in NZ.Recently changes have been made to the Memorial with new handrails, a second flagpole to enable the true meaning of ANZAC to be displayed and granite blocks with operational areas have been installed around the base indicating locations that NZ Service personnel have served and continue to serve.
There is to be a short muster and Service to reflect on these changes.

We regularly hear the "Ode to the fallen" recited at funerals of Former Service personnel. In the "Ode to the fallen" it states "We will remember them".
There is to be a short muster and reflection time at the Soldiers Memorial in Manchester Square at the appointed hour which saw the guns across the Europe as World War 1 came to an end - we will remember them.
Laying Wreath. Medals to be worn. Everyone welcome.

Ok peeps so we have been monitoring the weather forecast for tonight and it shows the rain has gone and the wind is set the drop as well so it all systems go for tonight see ya there remember gates open a 6 and cash only at the gates prices $ 20 per family 2 adults up 2 4 kids or $ 5 per person cheers all
There is food vendors and led toys on sale bring blanket to sit on and enjoy the display gates open at 6 fireworks between 8 30 and 9 see ya all there please no dogs this display is on Friday the 1st November at the rugby fields at Rongotea school.
