Bee Fact 🐝 Did you know that bees have smelly feet.. they are covered in a oily coating that is created as a form of waterproofing. So when they land of a flower they leave their chemical sent behind, this enables the other foraging honeybees to smell their oily footprints and know not to land on the same flower. They also use their oily footprints smell as a way to know their way back to their own hive. How amazing are bees 😍

McGregors Honey

What started as a hobby between father and son Boyd and Stewart McGregor, developed in to a strong passion for beekeeping, working outside and the environment.

McGregors Honey is a small family business which was started in 2015 with just a handful of hives on the back of our properties. This then grew in to having hives locations in Motu, Otoko, Ormond, Waimata, Whangara, Matokitoki Valley and within Gisborne urban locations.

In 2016 Boyd and Stewart set up their own honey extraction facility, in which we are able to have total control of what happened to our RAW HONEY, extract it at low temperatures, no pasturisation, straight from the hive box to the jar. Boyd and Stewarts wives Sue and Elyse McGregor are also hands on in the production and selling of McGregors Honey, pure wax reusable wraps and individual wax molds.

McGregors Philosophy is: β€œWe focus on the health of our bee’s and to supply a raw and healthy product for you”
