Alongside Bordeaux, Bilbao and Cape Town, last year Hawke’s Bay earned a spot in the elite group of places known as Great Wine Capitals of the World, confirming the region’s reputation as New Zealand’s Food and Wine Country.

A new signpost has been placed outside the Havelock North isite to demonstrate our standing within the network of global wine regions.

The signposts were made locally, with sponsorship from WineWorks, contract bottler, packer and logistics service provider to New Zealand’s wine industry.

Here is the full transcript of one of the most beautiful & heartwarming introductions, a teacher at an elementary school in a local village in the Philippines prepared during a commencement exercise held recently. This teacher is unknown to Clem on a personal level so it's totally surprising and amazing to read such a great introduction like this. Kudos, Ms Julie!

Introduction of the Speaker

Good morning, everyone!
It is never too late to change your life and the world around you. This is one of the principles of our dearest guest speaker that keeps her motivated, despite not having a normal life for 20 years like others had. She is a self- published author who bravely writes her own life story of trials, hardships, and triumphs. This book is called “Baby, Don’t Give Up!” I am about to finish this book and I personally love it for this book touches me in so many ways, but it doesn’t mean that you should go through the same journey to understand it deeply. I am telling you; it will change your perspective about dealing with struggles in life and it will deepen your faith in God no matter what your religion is. Her second book entitled “The Girl Who Slayed Dragons” is a book with a twist of magical and fantasies which is a sequel of her first book that will be published soon.
Her love for writing leads her to her project which is the “Library sa Bawat Barangay” in which Barangay Lourdes (the village of Lourdes) is the first beneficiary of this. This project is her personal initiative; however, the local government officials fully supported this project for it is the first ever project of its nature being implemented by an individual / private citizen. Moreover, because of the difficult circumstances that happened to her for so many years, she also became an advocate of Violence Against Women and Children.
Her intelligence is amazing! She is a proof that education is not only for those younger aged people. In fact, she graduated Cum Laude at Philippine Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts - Major in Psychology and Sociology. She is also pursuing her Postgraduate in Diploma in Arts at Massey University in New Zealand (on sabbatical).
She is the CEO and founder of My Chauffeur Limited in New Zealand which was established over 8 years ago and up until now. The CEO and Managing Director of Paperworkz Consulting Limited also in New Zealand.
She is a brave woman who battled a lot in early years of her life, but it doesn’t make her less of a woman. When asked about her… Who she may have become right now is not a surprise. After all, she had become the person she is now because of the virtues and values that was developed and nurtured as she strongly continues to live her life despite of all the things happened to her. Many things may have been said by others about our guest of honor and speaker; accounts of tales of stories, true and untrue; but what remains to be good and true is the fact that this woman of the hour is a woman incomparable to her genuine intentions to fulfill her chosen life – to serve not only her family but to everyone. She’s known to be undemanding despite her life status today. She is willing to witness and come to an aid to those who needed her in every possible way.

My Chauffeur is in solidarity (through prayers) with the Taiwan community, after a massive earthquake struck their country yesterday.

A heartfelt message from the founders of My Chauffeur: Through the years, My Chauffeur met thousands of people who dealt with us and engaged with our services. They come from all walks of life! And they are all so special to us! Many remained loyal since the beginning of our operation! They, in fact, are our greatest advertisers. Some, became like our family; treated us as family! Helped us in times of need. Lifted our spirits when the going is tough. Just one of the many reasons it's hard for us to let go of My Chauffeur - in August, it will be the start of our 9th year in operation! How did we survive and lasted this long? Below is just one of the many beautiful stories as to how and why we have withstood the test of times as small business operators: Between 28th - 31st of March, Rex & Clem had the privilege to service and accompany a family of 4 adults who booked My Chauffeur early last year. They are from USA (Florida, Houston). Throughout the time we've spent with them, though strangers to each other, out of nowhere a very good relationship emerged. The dad became Rex' "brother"; both considered each other a friend. Clem and the Mum had a lot of conversations, mostly personal and getting to know each other. The 2 sons were amazing - one of the most knowledgeable and highly intellectuals we've come across with (1 graduated at Harvard University currently a Company Vice Pres, the other finished 3 degrees!). Both parents have their own bragging rights as well - yet, they are a picture of a humble and so down to earth people. They were so caring and respectful, too! We are used to "professional dealings" that we'd give privacy to our clients when on tours - but here's a family who paid for our entrance fees, adding us in their already booked lunch in Auckland, by calling the restaurant on the way; treating us at Cafe and surprised us with a generous tip! Yesterday's grind was an unexpected job. We received a call around 10ish pm, (ready to sleep!) from Omahu Motor Lodge Hastings (a big shout out!), Re cruise passengers (an American couple, wife had an accident & needed to be checked at hosp) who needed to catch their cruise in #wellington. So, our everyone's go-to in times of need like this Rex Clem Jones couldn't say NO. 8:00AM, off we go! We didn't have special permit to take them inside port, so Mr Jones coordinated at the office - making sure they're looked after & assisted given circumstances & with 4 luggages they needed to carry back inside their #norwegiancruiseline.
