Mehrangarh is a historic fort located in Jodhpur, and it stands on a hill above the old city, rising about 122 meters above the old city. It was initially built around 1459 by the Rajput ruler of Rathore clan Rao Jodha, but building didn't finish until the 18th century.
An absolutely beautiful fort and so educational followed by a quick walk through the village.

The safari continues for the Moyles and Lagerberg's. 3 nights in Vic Falls for them to get their adrenaline fix! The Devils pool will sort that out!!!
A scenic helicopter ride over the Falls, swing across the Zambezi, white rhinos , sunset cruise etc etc - we don't think they slept!!!

An adrenaline packed day exploring Victoria Falls - from the very edge swimming in the Devil’s Pool (only in Africa would this be allowed 🥹), walking around the Victoria Falls footpath, watching the boys do the swing and finishing up with a heli flight to view the falls from above. Just spectacular 😍
Family Safari Update #2
In Virunga you can also trek to see the Golden Monkeys, which are always entertaining and cheeky & pose for pics!
Then onwards to Nyungwe National Park. On the way the Moyles & Lagerbergs become the most popular visitors as they handed out balls they had bought from NZ. A fun day for all. The girls got their boogy on with the locals!
The next day they set off trekking in Nyungwe looking for the chimps. The weather gods didn't play their part and after a wet & slippery trek they were rewarded with one chimp. An afternoon spent tea tasting & a bit of archery made up for it!

Our first guests for 2024 have started their year in Rwanda. Two families doing an amazing safari in Rwanda,Vic Falls, the Okavango Delta and Capetown. First stop Kigali and then onto Volcanoes National Park to spend time with the gorillas. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

The family we trekked in to is Igisha - not sure of the area, but the furthest point that the tourist treks drive to.

Yesterday was International Cheetah Day and World Wildlife Conservation Day, we think the cheetahs at Chitabe must have known that! What an incredible sighting to see so many together.
We were on an educational in the Okavango Delta in November and saw 7 cheetah. Chitabe is such an incredible area for cats.
This is very exciting - a new option connecting Windhoek and Vic Falls and Maun. A great combination for any safari. 👏👏👏👏🇳🇦🇧🇼🇿🇼

There is no better way to start the day than with 6 playful lion cubs! The beauty of being in a private concession - we were one of two vehicles and stayed with this pride for well over an hour. What a privilege and they loved having an audience!
A helicopter is a great way to transfer between lodges when you are in Botswana. A quick 15 min transfer between Chitabe and Eagle Island. Hippos, eles, buffalo- all trying to find water and respite from the heat.
You can see how desperately dry things are.
India 🇮🇳 - there is so much to offer and you need to peel back the layers as it will blow your mind and your every sense will be awakened.

And finishing in Zambia with Brent for five days (most of the time just the three of us in the camp) is truly beyond words. Life changing for sure. He is a very special person - as I’m sure you know. You must spend time with him in Mwaleshi. An experience like no other. On foot with animals that are totally wild, not accustomed to vehicles or people in one of the most remote parks in Africa. How many get that chance! We are very very grateful to you ❤️

Lynne and Murray have had the last couple of weeks in Zambia, the Lower Zambezi, South Luangwa and the more remote North Luangwa. They are now relaxing on the shores of Lake Malawi.

Riding the metro is an easy way to get around some of the cities in India. There are women only carriages, which have been a game changer for the local women. They are often seen at the end of the day grouped together catching up in the gods and preparing their vegies for the evening meal. #alwaysonestepahead

Jaipur is such a beautiful and bright city. A visit to the flower and vegetable market by rickshaw to watch everyone get ready for the day. A visual feast. Flowers are bought from the Himalayas to the market daily. Joining the morning prayer at the Govind Devin Temple, was such an experience. Delhi to Agra - the city of love via the train. After a few hours relaxing, we headed out to buy our sarees and kurta pyjamas for Holi celebrations. A lot of fun in the shop with 9 women all shopping. Our guide PK is a very patient man!!! We then headed to the Mughal Gardens - Mehtab Bargha the garden of moonlight, which is across the river from the Taj Mahal. Absolutely incredible to see it bathed in the late evening sunlight. We ducked and weaved in our big bus back through the traffic and ended amount at Salt for a quick dinner on the rooftop bar. Agra is so different from Delhi- a different kind of chaos but full of colour and character
Old Delhi is crazy, chaotic and fascinating all at the same time. We braved the metro, made perfume, sampled street food and visited the Spice market.
In the ♥️ of the Ugab River is Ozondjou Camp- a special part of the world, where you can track desert elephants. We also visited the local schoool to drop off a few things. 510 kids in a school that was built for about 100. Most of them board- education is a sought after privilege and everyone wants to get one. This means leaving the village and boarding - some from 5 years old.
