Thanks to NZOIA Excellence in Outdoor Leadership and Tihoi Venture School for another excellent symposium. It was a real privilege to attend the various professional development workshops and present to NZOIA members on the Adventure Activities Regulations. Congratulations to all the NZOIA award winners. The depth of knowledge, experience, and passion for the outdoors is inspiring and humbling. The AdventureMark team looks forward to seeing you out and about.

We recommend all businesses involved in providing guided or instructed outdoor activities review this draft guidance and provide feedback to WorkSafe. This guidance will inform the requirements for operators, so industry engagement and input is crucial to ensure the rules are fit-for-purpose.

Remember: The Adventure Activities Amendment Regulations 2023 come into effect on 1 April. Regardless of when your next audit activity is scheduled, you must make sure that you are adhering to the new Regulations and the Safety management system requirements for Adventure Activity Operators 2023 from 1 April.
