Whisky Galore has its latest auction running. There are some nice whiskies in there. For the Springbank lovers there is a a 1966 Local Barley there. Shame its not the Sherry Cask. I might have been tempted on it if it was.

Have a look and see if there are any Christmas tipples that would hitting the spot this festive season.

Had a wee visit to the Blair Athol distillery today. I really enjoyed it but my god I wish they produced more than the 12yr for the single malt market. I tried a 29yr today that was sensational. I would pay good money for a bottle of that.

Yesterday was Glengoyne day. I did the Malt Master tour which includes a dram at the beginning of the tour and then at the end where you get to create your own 200ml bottling with a mixture of up to 5 different single malts to get it to your own unique profile. This was a lot of fun, experimenting with the flavours and bringing it together. Well worth the £105 for the experience.

If you are ever over this way I highly recommend a visit.

Wandering through the streets of Oban I find myself in one of the backs streets and discover the most wonderful whisky bar. This is The Whisky Vaults. Here you will find a fabulous selection of whiskies. A dram for everyone. The staff are so friendly and very knowledgeable. Honestly I know tomorrow after I have done the distillery tour I will be back again for another.

Now to finish of my Oban Young Teddy. One that I am sure will have not graced the shelves of bars in NZ.

Who doesn’t love seeing this sort of thing. NZ is truly in good shape amongst the giants of the whisky industry.

Fantastic news from the latest judging round of the World Whisky Awards! Cardrona’s The Falcon won two Categories - "New Zealand’s Best Whisky – 12 Years and Under" and "New Zealand’s Best Small Batch Whisky - 12 years & under”. Plus a bundle of other awards that Georgia is holding!

An outstanding result overall with our good friends Scapegrace (Best Single Cask), Thomson Whisky New Zealand (Best Non-Age Statement) and Pokeno Whisky (Best Small Batch No Age Statement) taking home their categories too. New Zealand is doing well 🌟

This puts Cardrona in the running for the title of World’s Best Single Malt – being announced 20th March. Wish us luck! 🍀

Another amazing time spent at Cardrona Distillery. Our tour guide giving an in depth insight to the workings at Cardrona Distillery. The whisky has come on beautifully at 7years now so is turning into something even more special than I had thought it would become.

Without a doubt a must for all whisky enthusiasts to come visit and walk away with some of NZ’s and the world’s best spirits.

Don’t just think about it. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Whisky Auctioneer has one of the most important whisky auctions currently running since I can recall. You have to check it out. It contains the whisky found at Blair Castle that had been hidden away and forgotten about. The 24 bottles are museum pieces and whomever buys them are part of a very small and elite club.

Released between 1998-2001, this series is comprised of a 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 year old Springbank.

Just 580 of each bottle were produced, and it is incredibly rare to see all six bottles together like this.

We welcome New Zealand and international bidders to join us on the 20th when this historic collection goes up for sale.
