The last few nights have been beautifully still with an incredible full moon. The bird life noisy and plentiful.

Difficult to photograph but stunning to view!

Looking forward to the return of a gazillion stars as the moon fades again 🌙 ✨ 💫

Fun Fact:

This lemon tree was planted 29 years ago and it produces the most perfect blemish free lemons you can get.

It was so important to keep the tree that the buildings were designed around it 🍋🍋

🌿 how do you get off an island when there is a medical emergency?

We are fortunate enough to have the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service in Auckland that attends to 000 calls of this nature

It is an invaluable service to us and other remote areas of NZ

Together with our FENZ emergency response team on Kawau Island, we are well looked after in tough situations

THANK YOU to all involved for keeping our little community safe and well connected with greater NZ

Brushing your teeth while hearing the Weka and Kiwi in the surrounding bush Is definitely a highlight

Occasionally you will see a wallaby too but they generally don’t stick around for a chat

Our Story

This property has all the essence of camping without the fuss. Three individual sleeping pods allow plenty of privacy with flat camping sections for those who can’t resist the allure of sleeping outside. A central area to socialise, prepare meals, eat and relax allows everyone to come together as well as a separate amenities block.

Kawau Island has plenty of lovely walks and a quiet bay at the foot of the hill with good swimming during the summer months.
