Excited to be adding some new hunting areas to our 2025+ offerings. Big sky scenery, awesome red stag, fallow and new tahr hunting areas to adventure in and amongst. Plenty of small game too.

Some days in the field are more challenging than others, we couldn’t have retrieved the King of the Swamp without the strength and determination of Assistant Guide (daughter) Georgina who jumped in boots and all to haul this one out. Thanks Lowe - you went the whole nine yards to help your old man out.

Just had a mate send me these pictures of a stag he had come across on his property. Clearly old and probably starting to go backwards. About as non typical as a stag gets so if anyone has interest for this year let me know.

STRIPPING CAN BE A DANGEROUS GAME!
Sadly found dead after getting caught up in heavy brush was this SCI600+ Red Stag. At this time of year, Red Stag are rubbing their antler against whatever they can find to strip the velvet off what is by now, hard antler underneath. We saved a distressed and tired one last week, but unfortunately didn't get to this one on time.

We're BACK on FB! It's been a while. It's been awesome getting more Kiwis into the backcountry and teaching young (and old) guns how to hunt NZ style to fill freezers for summer BBQs in recent months. A few more weeks until trophy hunting season kicks in. Bring it!

Casey likes 'junk'. We like that Casey likes junk. What a heck of an interesting head, Red Stag really do come in all shapes and sizes from clean and symmetrical to heads with cool features like kickers and drop tines - often fondly called junk. Awesome head Casey!

I first met Brian in Colorado and have been lucky enough to share several hunt adventures with him since. Love that he brought his sons Logan and Keenan to NZ to experience their first red stag hunt with us, we had a blast. The boys did some great shooting and took these awesome heads home to NY state.

At last we got the big sambar that had been seen occasionally over the last 2 years. An injury to a hind leg caused a bit of a non typical right antler, but still a massive head.
