Lake Tekapo School has a free evening that has been planned with Ruud Kleinpaste (The Bugman) through his work with the school. Speaking with him will be Geoff Brunsden (Bumblebee Conservation Trust) who will discuss bees and Simone Smits who will talk about the Te Manahuna Project. This collaboration of people has been working with the children at school, however the evening talk will appeal to adults and interested parties in terms of becoming more Nature Literate ensuring biodiversity.
All are welcome!

Fresh snow on the mountains this morning 🥶.
One of the most common questions we get asked is: "What should we pack?" Our answer? 4 seasons in one day! 🌦 Pack layers, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen and don't forget your phone/camera for those magical views!

Summer 2024 -

While the lupins are classed as an invasive w**d, there was a beautiful show for our visitors in November - especially on what was known locally as ‘Lupin Island’. We had guests specifically asking where the best spots were to take photographs!

Thank you to Tekapo Ski Club Inc for donating the Tekapo Ski Club Retreat as a venue for the Lake Tekapo Volunteer Fire Brigade Christmas Party. It was a wonderful evening celebrating a year of comradery and service to the community.

We would highly recommend getting on your bikes when you are visiting Lake Tekapo. I'll be honest, I (Angela) probably spent the majority of the time walking my bike downhill...but the confident bike rider would LOVE these trails!!
