It will be great for touring bikers to be able to ride beside the highway and not on it. I wonder if road cyclists can use it or prefer the sealed road. I shudder when I see cyclists touring with their kids in bike trailers on the highway but they seem to manage it. Maybe I'm too much of a worry-wort.

The Mackenzie Basin is being opened up to mountain bikers and walkers with ground works starting this month to connect Lake Tekapo/Takapō to Dog Kennel Corner.

We're selling our Lake Tekapo apartments that we renovated and run as our home/holiday apartments. I love what we have achieved and I'm working on this next new challenge - marketing and selling them myself, which is way out of my comfort zone and a great learning experience. The apartments have been great for our work from home/small business lifestyle and nothing would feel better for me than to see another family make the change from city living to small village life.
