Kim from Helloworld Travel Palmerston North, recently set out on a spectacular journey, cruising on Holland America Line’s newest pinnacle-class ship through the majestic landscapes of Norway.

‘Cruising is out of Rotterdam, the original home of Holland America. The headquarters is now a unique starting point for passengers, we cruised from the North Sea into the Southern Fjords of Norway onboard the MS Rotterdam. This beautiful ship is a pinnacle-class ship, renamed ‘Rotterdam’ in July 2020 to honour the name’s legacy in the cruise liner history and is the 7th vessel to carry this name.

We sailed and visited Eidfjord, Alesund, Skjolden and Kristiansand spending a full day in each port. Every port was an easy walking distance from the ship making it simple to visit the centre of these beautiful Norwegian towns, and all days had exciting options for tour excursions. With 19 hours of daylight the opportunities to explore were abundant and our return to the ship was anticipated every day enabling us to enjoy shipboard life. We loved this experience and found the calm fjords of Norway a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this amazing country from the water in all its glory!’
