Its a stunning day here in Mangawhai today and reflecting on our day trip yesterday.
We took a group of 9 of us to the Botanic Gardens in Manurewa.
It was a very good day. The weather looking quite dodgy as we left Mangawhai and headed to Warkworth for our first pickups at Jills home. Then off to Orewa to collect Jacqui and Carol. The weather soon turned lovely again. It was so good to see everyone.
Once we reached our destination at the gardens cafe most of us sat and enjoyed the coffee. Others wandered off with their rugs and picnic food.
The gardens are gorgeous. You get so many ideas of flowers and shrubs you may later buy at some point.
The edible garden so interesting.
There were 15 sculptures on display. Interesting and so good to see amongst the gardens and lake.
From 11am to 2pm we sat and some danced to the wonderful Bruce French saxophonist, so good.
So good to chat with our friends and clients.
We got such a lovely surprise late morning from Betty and Bill who decided to surprise us, and as we turned around they were just there. So good, and as we sat down to lunch together it made the day even more special.
We all headed back up North at about 2pm.
The lovliest thing did happen while there, one of our clients chatted about the gallery and wonderful art work. She commented that there was a piece she loved. So we went in and she showed me. It was a beautiful bronze penguin.
Penguins are special. I could see she wanted the beautiful piece but undecided. I pointed out a few things about life after asking her some questions. I said think about it. She didnt take long and told the assistant at the counter she would purchase it.
Once we dropped her off along with the other ladies she hugged me and said thankyou, you have made my day feel so special.
Life is short as we hear at times some sadness with stories from friends and clients, so do what makes you happy. If you can afford something you fall in love with or want to travel someplace or even treat yourself in your weekly shop, etc, then do it. Its your life! Enjoy every day.

Petes worked extremely hard untill all hours of the morning alongside Katie and the team from Mangawhai Taxis, looking after everyone to make sure they get to and from home safely, today he is sleeping after arriving home this morning from working so he deserves a beer or two today but available from tomorrow, bookings now being taken.
What a fantastic team of concert goers and staff at Northern Bass festival.

We really enjoy keeping our clients safe with our sober driving services. This week is full on with the Hidden Valley festival in Matakana and the three day Northern Bass festival in the middle of farm country out of Hakaru.
The Red Bull team have become regulars at these festivals and are real fun to have on board.

My last group tonight will finish around 4am and tomorrow night I will be among the few sober people seeing the new year in when I get home around 5am.

The slab of red bulls might help keep me awake lol.
