We really don't mind how you describe it 😍😀...we'd just love you to come to and check Greytown out for yourself! With heaps on this Wellington Anniversary Weekend (including the famous Sidewalk Sale) we reckon this weekend's the go!

The mayor can “sort of see” where people are coming from when they call it posh, but is it really?

Welcome to the Wairarapa

Welcome to the Wairarapa, Wellington’s neighbour! Keep an eye on our page for the scoop on what's coming up, accommodation and all things to see and do in the Wairarapa.

The Wairarapa is only an hours drive or train ride from Wellington and we’re made up of five small towns: Martinborough, Featherston, Greytown, Carterton and Masterton, all within a stones throw of each other. Here you’ll find top notch Pinot Noir while cycling the vines, boutique shopping, restaurants and cafes filled with local produce, all encased by a stunning and rugged coastline on one side and the Tararua Ranges on the other.

Once you arrive everything is only “just around the corner” from the next meaning a visit here can be jammed packed with plenty to see for everyone.

Have a few questions for your trip? Give our Masterton and Martinborough i-SITE Visitor Information Centres a call - they can give you local advice and help booking accommodation. Give the team a call, phone: +64 6 306 5010.
