This project has been an absolute pleasure to be involved with.
Such early days and exciting to sail on.
She is definitely not a struggle to get into the groove.
Well done Phizzle Uk sails and Kevin Dibley 👏

Today we said goodbye to a very cool prototype project.
The Dibley/Phizzle 750 sports yacht on the way to having the deckgear, keel, rudder and rig fitted prior to finish paint being applied.
We look forward to being part of the crash test dummies on board in the near future.

After many many hours of contemplation and many more ltr's of motivational fluids, the team decided that it was time to pop this little beast off her building jig and turn her right side up.
Having pre glassed the inside of the panels prior to applying the exterior laminate and fairing process , we were pleasantly surprised by how stiff the bare hull shell was without any transom or structural components in place.
Looking forward to getting the girders and bulkheads in position in the near future.
Thanks again team , great effort.

Today's update is more of a request.
As many of you are aware we operate another company called Twenty 20 Marine Ltd based at Marsden cove marina haulout facility.
We are currently looking for staff to fill a variety of positions.

A good work ethic is a priority.
Our industry like many others has suffered from a lack of training over the past few decades.

Hello again from us all at Edlin Marine Ltd.
Firstly I apologize for the lack of communication over the past 24 months . Unfortunately I was blindsided by a personal situation that has taken most of my time to deal with.
Rest assured we have been plodding our way through a few projects over this period.
We completed the application of the exterior paint to a Robert's 46 footer and installed most of the exterior hardware. We are now working on commissioning the system as funds become available.
We have been chipping away on one of our 10.5 meter keel boat, which after 25 years in the water was due for a complete birthday inside and out. Still owned by the original owners. We are excited to be doing this for them and are looking forward to seeing them enjoy her again for another 25 years.
We have a couple of smaller projects that are being done along side these 2 major projects aswell.
A full Carbon fiber 7.5 meter sports yacht for an industry colleague and a live edge bar leaner for an outside bar.
We have also completed a bar leaner on a client's launch which has opened up the interior space after removing the couches.
As for my personal special project , this has stalled for the time being.
I hope to update you on future projects regularly moving forward again.
Take care and fair winds to you all

We have just been looking at the pictures of the damage at Tutukaka this morning after the tidal surge over night from the eruption in Tonga.
We here at Edlin Marine Ltd are shocked to see that our boating community has suffered such a loss.
Our deepest sympathy to all who have had their life long dreams devastated.
Stay safe and stay strong.

It has been a busy few weeks with one project nearing completion and being trucked off for refitting of the keel and mast at Marsden haulout facility.
While back at Matakohe we cut away the cradle from our next project and slide her into the shed.
This all went relatively smoothly with the added help of our friends from Keri Keri stepping in to help while I recover properly from a recent knee operation.
The boys have done another sterling job.

I have decided to post a few of the latest photos of Kiwi, the Jim Young 12 meter that is now to become my family's boat .
We are giving her a major overhaul and restyling her for our requirements.
After hearing of his passing today I hope that we do this project justice and that he would be pleased with the results.
Rest in peace sir Jim Young.

It has been a slow start back since level 3 with a reduced team so we can maintain social distancing in the work place.
We have managed to complete repairs to the Farr 1220 and get the first primer applied to the newly faired components of the cabin tops.
Also we have been able to produce the Marine deck panels to replace the teak decking in the cockpit areas.
Level 2 has now allowed us to drop of patterns to manufacturers to get under way .
Supplies are still slow to arrive and we expect this to continue for some time but are still managing to make effective headway.
We would also like to introduce Paul Tucker to our ranks as a contractor who has recently moved in to our community. I would like to add that Paul was my foreman at Bailey boats when I was an apprentice. He brings with him a wide variety of skills to compliment what we have on offer already.

Over the past few weeks the team has been busy making some minor alterations and repairs prior to preparing for painting on this Farr 1220 for her Northland based owner.
Progress has been steady.
We have removed the engine and sail drive, teak deaks have been removed and refilled, anchor locker tidied up and new drain holes added, mast and stainless steel are all being fully refurbished, new marine deck 2000 being applied to the cockpit area, new glass windows being installed in fiberglass window frames to protect the glass edges, new hatches, new electronics and canopies. She will be upgraded in her sailing systems to aid the ease of handling. Although we have now all come to a grinding halt, Edlin Marine wish all our clients, friends and family to stay happy and healthy over this trying period. We look forward to getting back to a normal routine.

Our special project is slowly but surely taking shape with the installation of most of the main bulkheads, new keel floors added,a new structural backbone for the T bulb ,new anchor locker well underway and the Bulb cast for the new keel.
It has been a little delayed due to the incredible weather creating so much heat, but this is now starting to settle down to realistic laminating temperatures.

Today saw the arrival of our next project in to our shed.
The Farr 1220 is in for a 30 year birthday which will fundamentally be renewing worn out equipment and a repaint.
A couple of weeks earlier we had the next project delivered to our yard and is waiting for the shed to be vacant. She has been under construction for the past 20 odd years and will now be completed and launched late this year.
Looking forward to a busy 12 months or more.

As we wind back into 2020 we have been able to progress our pet project a little further along.
Looking forward to seeing the new cabin spaces being defined. Slowly removing all the dodgy parts and will soon be installing the new structural components.

The next refits are lined up and will fill the shed up until late October.

Edlin marine wishes everyone a prosperous 2020 , to start the new decade off on the right foot.
