We're excited to be hosting the third Middle-earth Halfling Marathon event tomorrow Saturday 23 March here at Hobbiton!
Please be aware that our last tour of the day will depart at 11.30am and we are fully booked for all tours in the morning. We are expecting a large number of participants on the day who will be checking in and preparing for the event at the Shires Rest Café and Carpark, so if you're joining us for a tour in the morning, we recommend allowing additional time in your itinerary for parking and check-in.

Today marks 20 years since the first instalment of Sir Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings Trilogy when The Fellowship of the Ring first premiered on the world stage at Odeon Leicester Square in London on 10 December 2001. It was also the the debut of New Zealand as the fictional world of Middle-earth, and a certain sheep and beef farm just outside Matamata as Hobbiton, home of the Hobbits. We're very excited to be celebrating this milestone for the Trilogy with the sold out The Lord of the Rings 20 Year Anniversary Celebration tonight, welcoming fans for a 4k screening of The Fellowship of the Ring on the Party Field.
