Roundabout NZ understands that everyone is different and wants different things for their holiday. Together we will create YOUR holiday by talking and listening to you and putting together an itinerary, which is well balanced and what YOU want. It goes without saying that it will run like clockwork, but in addition to the major attractions and the broad general route, which are well covered in the
guide books, we will also give you heaps of ideas and suggestions so that you get the most out of every single day and that your holiday in New Zealand is the best holiday you have ever had. In fact, you will love it so much, we look forward to welcoming you back on your return trip!

All set and ready for the doors to open at London Olympia Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show
Winding down after a great day 1 at holiday world show Dublin.
Our first visitor to our Dublin stand. Thanks for the enthusiasm Trevor.
30 minutes until opening time at the Holiday World show Dublin. Excited.
Are we mad leaving all this and our glorious summer behind? No! Because we’re on our way to see you at and you’ll easily be able to find us…we’re the ones with the suntans! See you soon! Dublin London here we come!! Thanks RS for manning the fort!
Happy Christmas from a very soggy Nelson! See you soon!!
There’s always a gem at the end of the road! This weekend it was Karamea, about 1.5 hours north of Westport. Cycled part of the Heaphy Track which quite frankly was showing off - the track that is, not us! What a stunner. And the Ōparara Arches, which impress every time. And a new one for us, Charming Creek with its coal and timber history, fabulous waterfall and fun ride. Don’t spend your holiday dashing around New Zealand, linger a while or you’ll miss too much.
Sometimes you drive to the end of the road because you know you are going to be met by something magical....be it Milford Sound, or Castlepoint Lighthouse, Aoraki Mount Cook or the Archway Islands at Wharariki or simply delicious fish and chips served up in a railway carriage at Jackson’s Bay. And sometimes you just let curiosity get the better of you. Today we went to Butcher’s Flat and the Doom Foster Bushwalks in the Mount Richmond Forest Park......a turn off we must have passed at least 100 times between Nelson and Blenheim and we were greeted by a beautiful walk (and some rather icy creek crossings!) and a huge amount of history from gold mining times. Lots of informative panels on the road in. Just love getting off the beaten track. Try it….we will give you some clues 😉
Fabulous Coast to Coast trip with Stewart Island flights.
Beach landing stunning walk and a welcome water taxi to finish.
Not that we ate badly on the tramp (steaks and Bush mulled wine infused with Manuka patent pending!) but the feast of fresh blue cod at the South Sea Hotel was to die for.
Lovely early evening flight from Rotorua to Wellington over Central North Island
Autumn….low light, big skies, settled weather, lots of colour and a very special time to visit New Zealand. And looks like there’s more than one way to visit Tasmans Great Taste Trail.
Three National Parks within close proximity of Nelson. This weekend managed to visit one a day with friends. Friday climbed Mt Arthur in Kahurangi, Saturday some volunteering in Nelson Lakes and Sunday a walk in the Abel Tasman. All different and all spectacular, something for everyone.
The West Coast never ceases to amaze. We’ve always had rave reviews from you about time spent at Tauranga Bay and now the addition of the Kawatiri Bike Trail adds yet another dimension….the best way to enjoy New Zealand is to travel slowly….
Client call….seriously! We always love talking to you….
Sometimes the coldest days are the best days! Queenstown (Remarkables) February! A stunner! And despite a bit of a gloomy outlook for the last couple of days…we managed to stay dry, walk around Moke Lake (a must), Glenorchy, bike Arrowtown to Kawarau bungy (I actually did this on my first visit to New Zealand in 1993 but not this time…) and back and then a complete blast with a lift pass for Cadrona and an afternoon of mountain biking with all the uphill taken care of! Caitlin says thanks for the loan of the ski pants! Queenstown a magic place to base yourself for a few days….take stock, catch up and so so so much variety of things to do. And no visit complete without a Ferg burger (photos too messy to share!)
Today was a visit to the lake on a Island on a lake on a Island on the Ocean.
Lake Arethusa on Mou Waho Island Lake Wanaka.
Enjoying the sunny West Coast today absolutely stunning. Dropped Jenny and her bike off on top of Haast Pass...picked her up at Blue Pools...suspect her brake pads had more of a work out than her pedals! Love a New Zealand summer!!
Blue sky day heading South
We always love a roadie
Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.
And those of you in New Zealand enjoy the kiwi sunshine! Great to have you back! Have fun everyone see you soon, Jenny and Graham
Summer is here.
Auckland….the start (or finish or both!) for many of your New Zealand holidays….and what an introduction…beautiful harbour, lively waterfront, fabulous restaurants, brilliant museum, art galleries, shops and plenty of opportunity to get out in the water. A great way to get over the flight…but for us a venue for a glass of wine as a pre-cursor to Billy Joel! Live at Eden Park. So excited! Jenny Cooper
Always fun having friends to stay and showing off our backyard! Sam and Nicole thanks for giving over a week of your Antipodean Adventure to come and stay with us in Nelson! Don’t think we’ve changed much since school days! Have the best time in Australia and thanks for the laughs!
Nelson Lakes, Golden Bay where our old mailbox still reigns, Wharariki Beach, Pupu Springs, much cycling and more cafes than I care to count! What a great week!
TranzAlpine an ever popular train trip across the Southern Alps….today we had the great joy of meeting old school and London friends who are staying with us for 10 days as a side trip while visiting their daughter doing a years uni exchange in Melbourne. Thanks NS and SS for making the time. 40 year friendships are great! Met them in Greymouth and spending a magical night at Punakaiki…weather even played ball after an unpromising start!
Little adventure for us before the summer rush!
Congratulations both……what a game!
Where it failed on the weather Wellington more than impressed on the spectacular…first time visit to WOW and it was wow and a kaka to boot in the botanical gardens , plus lots of fabulous food, drink and of course company C, J, K and J W … thanks for the weekend and idea.
Put Wellington our cool little capital on your agenda…it’s a fab city, one of the best.

Proud to be a Kiwi….long time coming (I was slow) but on 8 Oct 2021 I became a New Zealand citizen and today took part in the New Citizens of New Zealand Community planting Day in the Matai. Thanks friends of the maitai and Nelson City Council for organising. A fun and special morning.
Nelson was “lit up” last night! Fab evening at the illuminate light and sound experience at Founders Heritage Park. Go Nelson!
Borders now fully open to tourists from all countries…you can’t go wrong with a winter holiday….there’s plenty going on! See you soon!
