Shuttle Driver wanted for Part Time work.

Top Trail Cycle Hire is seeking an experienced driver with a current P licence to join our team. The work consists primarily of collecting cyclists, and their bikes, from either end of the Twin Coast Cycle Trail - at Horeke or Opua. The shuttle runs daily on demand for a pick up at 3pm. There is other non scheduled work for cruise boat passengers and other special requests.
The successful applicant will have a good local knowledge and enjoy interacting with visitors to our region, and a clean driving record.

Yesterday at Mangungu Mission House there was a commemoration of the single biggest signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It has been remembered with a day of kōrero, kai and kinship by the shores of Northland’s Hokianga Harbour.
On February 12, 1840, more than 3000 Māori gathered at Mangungu in South Hokianga, where 64 rangatira (chiefs) put their tohu (signatures) to the document. If you are lucky enough to have been to this beautiful spot on the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland, then you will really appreciate this article. Enjoy the read!

Waitangi Day is a special commemoration for Aotearoa/New Zealand. There are plenty of people arriving into the Bay of Islands to be part of it. The full programme can be found at this link - and there is plenty to do in Waitangi, tomorrow on the 6th Feb, from the dawn ceremony, through to a wonderful set of entertainment. Market and food stalls and plenty of culture and history to soak in.

Family Riding

The Pou Herenga Twin Coast Cycle Trail requires Moderate fitness, when heading west, there is a short section 1.2km from Okaihau dropping down into the Utakura Valley is grade 3, with the majority grade 1 and 2. It offers easy riding and suitable to families - we offer tagalongs, toddler seats for the kids not quite old enough to go alone - for those in the in between time that may not manage the downhill 40kms there is a Trail and Tunnel taster.
