A rainy day in Northland. It's been awhile since I checked in as I took a holiday to the other side of the world. Still a little while before we can say spring is in the air. Has Autumn already arrived, we've had some brisk weather days and a few welcome sprinkles of rain. Cruise ships are still visiting our harbour thru into April. Our most popular tours are still the Glow Worm Caves and our 1 hr Scenic tour which stops at
Haruru Falls and the lookout for the best photo of your ship at anchor. Yes Bay of Islands is a tender port.

It's wonderful summer in NZ it's a special thing I spent my childhood at the beach every holiday camping laughing swimming and wandering. All you need is your togs a towel and your picnic...... Holidays ya gotta do a bit of research. Check out what's going on where you are going to. Any festivals, any music gigs, any sports events, art exhibitions, garden safaris, historic events,any plays or movies on what are the locals up to? What's on offer that might interest you. Where is my accommodation?
How far is it to walk to the cafes? or where ever you are going.
Does the town have a taxi or uber or a horse or a bus How do you get from A to B HHHmmmm so many questions and answers you wish you new when you got there. Small towns in NZ have so many exciting events going on. A quick google search and your holiday has a new adventure to add to your itinerary.

Hey Hey Hey what's going on with the weather? A fav subject of many. Unpredictable for sure. We've been out touring with some fabulous visitors. Chocolate & Wine tasting and often an extended visit to Phat House Brewery Covered all the tastes. The town was buzzing for easter Some interesting chocolate cocktails No doubt chocolate on everyone's lips. As the daylight hours shorten, the cruise ships disappear. Summer is turning to Autumn and it's certainly been a changable season. Many people ask me what the weather is going to be next. My answer is open your curtains in the morning Northland can be 4 seasons in one day. Take your swimwear and take your jacket.
